"My Jun 2024 trip"

I visited Namibia between 26 Jun 2024 and 18 Jul 2024
"We had a very good experience working with Sabina. We had done a fair amount of reading and research prior to our decision to work with Expert Africa and were looking for someone to assist us in the planning of our holiday in a collaborative way. Sabina was open to this way of working with us and incorporated our ideas and interests with her recommendations to create a bespoke itinerary for us.

An additional benefit was having, in Sabina, a local who also had worked in the UK. We found her personal experience with and knowledge of the various lodges in Expert Africa's portfolio assisted her in recommending which lodges would suit us best. She was very helpful in route planning and timings - these were invaluable when we planned our daily travels and ensured we were never caught out by the time it takes to travel various distances. We liked how our route took us to various of types of lodges and also how our travel was along the back routes to ensure we could enjoy the fabulous and ever changing scenery, which when speaking with others staying in the same lodges seem to make our trip somewhat unique.

Sabina was also fantastic in communicating my dietary requirements to the lodges and ensuring that they were accommodated, even on bush lunches and braais. We also appreciated how she was available immediately for the two problems we encountered while traveling and was able to advise and in one case, sort one problem out with the lodge on our behalf. Finally, she kindly provided us with a cool box and ice blocks which she personally dropped off at the Olive Grove Guesthouse.

All of these small touches along with her expertise and attention to detail made our trip stress-free, highly enjoyable and a very positive experience.

We would definitely recommend Expert Africa to friends and family who desire a similar experience at a similar price point." Read full review: 22 nights in Africa; 20 on a Namibia trip

"Unforgettable July 2024 trip"

I visited Botswana and 3 other countries between 21 Jun 2024 and 24 Jul 2024
"We had the most amazing family holiday - so many unforgettable moments. Maruska was efficient and helpful from the planning stages through to the completion of our journey. She stepped up to help immensely when our bags had been lost between Kilimanjaro and Joburg Airports. She stepped in and got the Wilderness Safari folks to help follow up with the airport and airlines which was a huge relief for us as we were "off grid" for several days following their loss and felt very stressed about what to do next. Overall - we were thrilled with our time in Africa and thank Expert Africa team for helping to plan such a great trip.

Suggestions to help us improve our trips or our service:
Converting NZD to USD to pay for the trip was daunting - felt hugely expensive. Yes, we requested and planned a high end experience and were aware of the costs, but we definitely felt a big hit to the wallet. When you factor in that we were also giving healthy tips (as suggested, and we felt like with the great service we should do at least the "minimum") on top of the high room rate at each camp ... we felt it even more. Next time we might consider a mix of high vs medium range camps to save some money. Again, not to take away from an incredible trip planned together with Maruska ... thanks" Read full review: 33 nights in Africa; 6 on a Botswana safari

"My Jun 2024 trip"

I visited Namibia between 17 Jun 2024 and 3 Jul 2024
"Fantastic trip -- the landscapes, the animals we saw, and our cultural encounters were super rewarding.

The time at Sosussvlei/Deadvlei was truly memorable, the desert landscapes and climbing the dunes [even Dune 45] were exhilarating and such special moments. The waterholes of Etosha continuously amaze as groups of animals arrive and share the same space, evoking a Peaceable Kingdom living mural.

The gravel roads can be challenging -- unfortunately they are the worst in Etosha, something the government could correct. But our vehicle was the right choice and we managed without problems other than discomfort." Read full review: 16 nights in Africa; 14 on a Namibia trip

I visited Namibia between 8 Jun 2024 and 28 Jun 2024
"The trip was fantastic and we would thoroughly recommend Namibia to anyone.

The country is beautiful and wildlife plentiful even though very arid.

It is safe to drive around and on the whole very friendly.

It was excellent.

Having the lounge in the airport was very beneficial both at the start and the end of the trip." Read full review: 20 nights in Africa; 20 on a Namibia trip

"Fantastic June 2024 Namibia Self Drive Trip"

I visited Namibia between 4 Jun 2024 and 27 Jun 2024
"The trip was great.

3 nights Sossusvlei area, 2 nights Swakopmund, 2 nights Spitzkoppen, 3 nights Doro Nawas & Twyfelfontein area, 2 nights Okonjima, 4 nights Andersson's at Ongava & Etosha NP, 4 nights at the Mundulea Nature Reserve and one night at Windhoek at the end. Moving from the desert & the coast, the stunning mountain & dune landscapes to more & more wildlife sceneries.

The choice to tour Namibia clockwise self-driving was a good decision in retrospect. Starting at Windhoek and driving off immediately after landing early morning to the Sossusvlei area was a long exhausting drive, but the right choice to save a day, made easier from the start with the kind support of Expert Africa's partner in country Wilderness Safaris (nice relaxing lounge & office in the airport building, support for picking up the car, support for money exchange).

Redoing the trip, we would perhaps plan for 4 full weeks instead of 3 weeks, adding a night in Windhoek at the start of the trip, 3 nights at Okonjima in lieu of 2 nights, and take a flight back & forth from Doro Nawas (leaving the car there) to spend 2 or 3 nights at the Skeleton Coast NP in addition.

A fantastic trip & memories for the whole family." Read full review: 23 nights in Africa; 21 on a Namibia trip

"My May 2024 trip"

I visited Namibia and 1 other country between 20 May 2024 and 21 Jun 2024
"We had a wonderful 24-day road trip to Namibia in May / June 2024, followed by 5 days in Cape Town.

We really felt that we were listened too very carefully in the planning process.

I even got to see a pangolin which was top of my wish list.

We would highly recommend Expert Africa. Thank you Maruska!

"My May 2024 trip"

I visited Namibia between 18 May 2024 and 1 Jun 2024
"We thoroughly enjoyed the trip. The variety of scenery was fabulous and the standard of accommodation and food exceeded our expectations.

The itinerary and route worked out perfectly for 14 nights in the country. Everyone we met was very friendly and welcoming.

We weren’t expecting to see wildlife in such great numbers and to see so many baby animals was a great bonus.

Some of the road surfaces were quite challenging on the C and D roads, as were the roads to the waterholes in Etosha, but we did feel secure in our 4x4 and drove fairly cautiously, fortunately avoiding a puncture!

Chris McIntyre’s book was invaluable, particularly about the waterholes in Etosha, as well as the detailed travel documents and map. So much information on the website too, though some things need updating. For example, in Okaukuejo they no longer do a room inventory. Also, park entrance is now N$ 350 per 24hours for 2 persons plus vehicle." Read full review: 14 nights in Africa; 14 on a Namibia trip
