Incredible desert scenery, beautiful Namib/Naukluft mountains, stunning sand dunes and wonderful wildlife viewing.
The rock art at Twyfelfontein was fascinating. Excellent accommodation with friendly people throughout"

Great drive up to the escarpment with David who was very knowledgeable and an excellent safe driver. We enjoyed the Quiver Tree Trail.

Cornerstone Guesthouse
"Cornerstone Guesthouse review"
Good sized room, very interesting owners - happy to talk about their life experiences on a family farm near to Etosha. Excellent breakfast.
We took advantage of the laundry option - everything returned beautifully pressed"

Doro Nawas
"Doro Nawas review"
The food on the buffet was excellent. However if you were one of the last to arrive for meals, there was little food left, and the staff had to prepare and produce more. This was particularly apparent with breakfast on the second morning.
Amazing staff in that several of them remembered our names after just one introduction."

Okaukuejo Camp
"Okaukuejo Camp review"
Accommodation is basic but adequate. Restaurant and breakfast were far better than anticipated.
We last transited Etosha in 2006 driving a Toyota Corolla. The roads are in such a poor state that it would have fallen to pieces. It was difficult enough driving in a pick up truck - we were down to 20kph. We were seriously concerned that we would not reach the exit gate at Namutoni before the sunset time cutoff. Several vehicles had broken down between Okaukejo and Namutoni including a petrol tanker.
So sad as Etosha is the "jewel in the crown". The roads needs regrading urgently. Or tarred like Sossusvlei"

Great setting, all chalets had a totally private setting.
The very welcome hot water bottle is needed in the winter!"

Okonjima Plains Camp
"Okonjima Plains Camp review"
The food was excellent - but the service was extremely slow - half an hour at least between start and main course. We had been forgotten as the last table for two was a little distance from the main dining area.
We enjoyed the self guided 5k Giraffe walking trail very much. We did our first night drive - but wouldn't consider doing another as it seemed so intrusive on resting giraffe and antelope etc.
It may be that this is a destination in itself - but it did feel as if the staff were hard selling their various trips."
