"Little Kulala review"
All staff very friendly, food good, trip to sand dunes amazing." See all these reviews: 8n in Namibia; 3n in Zimbabwe
"Oasis in the desert"
The dunes were everything we hoped and then some. "A" earned bragging points by climbing Big Daddy. Our guide, Edward, was very good but somewhat hampered by a sprained ankle." See all these reviews: 10n in Namibia
"Desert and dunes at Little Kulala"
Having said this the staff were all fantastic, especially the temporary manager Gregory, and our guide Abner was knowledgeable, helpful and fun. The room was great - perhaps the whole place was a little 'over designed' for our tastes, but nevertheless a fantastic lodge and a great place to start the visit.
Incidentally your notes about additional charges for certain types of drinks - spirits and SA wines - were inaccurate. We were not charged for anything extra throughout the whole visit." See all these reviews: 7n in Namibia
"Little Kulala review"
It was very exciting to see our first Sprinkbok pronking and the ostriches with their chicks (the only chicks we saw). Dunes suprb - toilet facilities ther ghastly. It would have been good to have ben warned!!" See all these reviews: 8n in Namibia; 6n in Botswana; 2n in Zambia
"Little Kulala review"
The scenery and isolation appealed to us very much. In common with our experience throughout Namibia, the staff were very warm, friendly and excellent at their jobs." See all these reviews: 16n in Namibia
"Luxury in the desert"
Little Kulala is in another league in terms of luxury and service. There were 29 staff for 24 (max) guests. The rooms were simply superb with their own plunge pools and the facility to 'sleep under the stars' on the roof. Little Kulala also has it's own entrance to the park thus avoiding the need to travel 30 kms back to Sesriem Richard, our guide for the whole stay, couldn't have done more, but the same could be said for all the staff who took a real pride in their lodge. The sunset over the desert dunes was an image that will stay with us for a very long time. The food at LKL was well presented and delicious but without the level of choice that might have been expected at such a superb place. If you were full-board everything was included. If, like us you were half-board it was difficult to find out what was and was not included and nowhere were the prices for activities, drinks from the bar or other 'extras' written down......we guess that in such a lovely and expensive place it was assumed that no-one would need to ask. Even so, our stay at Little Kulala Lodge was an unforgettable experience.
Overall the ambience and service at both lodges made our stay in the Sossusvlei area an unforgettable experience." See all these reviews: 25n in Namibia
"Little Kulala review"
Amazing beds, bedrooms and camp. The food is really wonderful.
Sleeping under the stars is like you are in a planetarium... we had a fantastic night up on the roof." See all these reviews: 10n in Namibia
"Memories of The Flintstones"
Apart from the amazing experience of climbing our first dune and descending almost vertically, a great highlight was the hot air ballooning over the dunescape at sunrise. Another unforgettable experience." See all these reviews: 11n in Namibia; 7n in Mozambique; 6n in Botswana
"A magical desert lodge"
The food was 'very good', wholesome and tasty - with many local dishes - though probably not excellent considering the price - once again this did not affect our stay at all. The inclusive wine list was also excellent with some superb Sout African wines. We especially appreciated the extra effort made to give us a special dinner on our first night (it was our honeymooon and a candle lit dinner in the wine cellar was arranged by one of the managers!) We would recommend Little Kulala to anyone and would love to go back some day!
Ballooning trip:
Magical early morning ballon flight - We had a fantastic experience ballooning over the Namib-Nauklif Park with dunes on one side and sunrise on the other. It was peaceful and fun at the same time - so glad we did it! It was all capped off with a fantastic champagne breakfast at the base of a dune!!" See all these reviews: 5n in Namibia
"Little Kulala review"
Three of us managed to climb Big Daddy, starting from the tail (2 hours to get up, 10 minutes to run down...). It was tough going, but really worth it. Rosie was an excellent guide, always with suggestions to make sure we had the best experience/got the best photos.
We saw a secretary bird here, and a hyena at the watering hole. We did a short hike too.
I spent one night on the roof bed - the night sky was just incredible, and I hardly got any sleep as I just wanted to take in the sky!
From here we flew to Damaraland, via Swakopmund, and we were given a stunning sightseeing flight on the bit to Swakopmund. I'm a GA pilot, and it's not often I have a flight that's this much fun!" See all these reviews: 14n in Namibia
