"Spitzkoppen Lodge review"

1 night Arrived 5 Feb 2022
"A lovely lodge with close links to the community and a seriously good location which challenged the significantly more expensive Sonop.

An easy drive from Swakopmund which breaks up a journey nicely.

You are borderline guaranteed to see zebra as the reserve the lodge sits on is small and fenced to keep the zebra in." See all these reviews: 10n in Namibia

"Spitzkoppen Lodge review"

1 night Arrived 6 Dec 2020
"Highly recommend this lodge.

The lodge is located directly ar the foot of the Spitzkoppe mountain which for its shape is also called the Matterhorn of Namibia. Rock formations are as impressive as those of Mowani Mountain Camp and the staff is highly committed to make your stay special.

The area is not as busy as the one around Mowani which might be considered as a plus. The camp is located a bit off the main tourist route, but still in a good reach when travelling from Windhoek to Swakopmund or vice versa or when travelling from Damaraland down to Namib Naukluft NP.

One just need to be aware that this lodge is more about landscape rather than game viewing." See all these reviews: 9n in Namibia

"Spitzkoppen Lodge review"

1 night Arrived 11 Dec 2019
"Beautiful location and perfect after days of traveling and needing a quieter spot, great outstanding views, great little pool with a view, sunsets from the lodge, sunrise from your tent/room.

Loved this place and wish we had a extra day to stay, relax, just view they beauty of the surrounding rocks or red! And there a great animals there too.

We took a morning bike ride to several spots to get out and get some body movement!" See all these reviews: 14n in Namibia; 3n in Botswana

"Outstanding lodge in magical location"

1 night Arrived 30 Oct 2019
"This is a brilliant lodge in a thrilling location at the base of the mountains.

The lodge is superbly run and had by far the best service of any we stayed at. The food was outstanding.

We have nothing to complain about, other than that out our stay was not long enough." See all these reviews: 9n in Namibia

"Spitzkoppen Lodge review"

2 nights Arrived 22 Oct 2019
"We felt that we shouldn’t have been advised to spend two nights here. Very limited in things to do. Nice location to explore initially. Chef was excellent and provided good vegetarian food. Manageress not in evidence and did not appear to be interested in her clients. Rooms were poor, lacking in toiletries etc. Cold and dusty due to open floorboards. No suitable lounge area or feeling that you could linger after meals" See all these reviews: 16n in Namibia; 1n in South Africa

"Amazing short stay at Spitzkoppen"

1 night Arrived 11 Sep 2019
"Spitzkoppen is another of Namibia's jewels, offering unique tented chalet accommodation set against a backdrop of the Spitzkoppe
mountain on the edge of the Namib Desert in southern Damaraland. Most of the chalets are on stilts and offer spectacular views over the desert plain and mountains beyond. A unique boardwalk system connects the chalets to the main lodge and dining area, which is set part way up the hillside adjacent to the small pool, from where you can enjoy a sundowner and watch a great African sunset. The chalets are very well equipped and very comfortable, with a small deck overlooking the desert. One of the highlights of Spitzkoppen is simply its location and the setting of the chalets and other buildings among the rocky landscape. The other highlight was the morning excursion we took, with our very capable guide Anna, around the Spitzkoppen rock area, and seeing some examples of ancient rock paintings. The staff in the dining room were very friendly and accommodating and a group of ladies from Damaraland sang some traditional Damaraland songs after breakfast just before our departure." "Spitzkoppe Lodge makes you feel like Royalty."

2 nights Arrived 5 Sep 2019
"Spitzkoppen Lodge is a brilliant place. The food is First Class and of Gourmet Standard, best food during the whole trip.

The rooms are great and the view from each looks out over the mountains. Worth waking up to.

Bird life and Lizards were plentiful to photograph.

The rooms are well spaced out and a considerable walk from the Dining Room. However, we never had to walk, as there was always a golf type buggy available, with a very willing driver at our service, to take us each way.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 nights here. The staff from the manager downwards were attentive, friendly and lovely." See all these reviews: 14n in Namibia

"Amazing place in an incredible place"

1 night Arrived 9 Aug 2019
"Great lodge in an amazing place and you can spot wildlife

Did one hike (3rd highest mountain - dont need a guide for this, but was very nice)

One thing: sometimes felt the staff was not treated correctly by the head of the lodge and felt sometimes uncomfortable" See all these reviews: 14n in Namibia
