"Very convenient location at Sesriem Gate. Individual lodges have unusual design with bedroom in one building and bathroom in another across the patio. If very security conscious going to the loo in the middle of the night involves much locking and unlocking of doors.

Main building has expensive looking and dramatic design but unfortunately food does not live up to this. First night braai had salad cart for starters and meat cooked to order. 3/4 pieces of meat presented on a plate with nothing else. Hence back to salad cart. Second night dinner same choice of meat with overcooked vegetables."

"Incredible location on hillside looking out over huge barren plain with only movement oryx and horses trudging from the horizon to use the small waterhole. Only suitable for the reasonably mobile with steep rocky paths down from the car park to the tents and from the tents up to the main building.

Very tasty and sophisticated food.

"This establishment consists of two parts: the main inn and Eagles Nest which consists of six lodges at the foot of a cliff seven kilometers away from the Inn along a twisty sand track. Eagles Nest is effectively self-catering but if you opt for dinner at the Inn you will land up driving back to your lodge in the dark.

Anyway the Inn itself is very comfortable and the meals have a good choice of well-cooked dishes.

There are a number of walking trails around the property of varying length and strenuousness. The way marking could have been better and the trails seemed to disappear at times."

"Unbelievable location with the edge of your patio only three metres from the Fish River Canyon’s edge with a single wire barrier 50 cms high between you and the edge.

Well worth the 20 kms drive along a bumpy track to get there. Rooms very comfortable and food excellent.

Sundowner drive and Canyon rim walks enjoyable."

Stay extended from two days to six after flights from South Africa to UK cancelled. Reception staff were outstanding in rearranging things and printing loads of documents needed to meet the new requirements."
