"Doro Nawas review"

3 nights Arrived 29 Sep 2013
"The rooms were very spacious and nicely decorated. I really liked being able to push our beds out onto the patio to sleep under the stars. The only disappointment with the room was its location. Rooms 1-3 face away from the mountain (we were in room 1) and we looked out onto the plains with cattle and goats. It would have been a nicer experience to face the mountain. Room 1 (our room) was located next to the employee quarters and one afternoon and night there was an ongoing fight (very loud angry yelling) between some employees. The yelling was very disturbing and unsettling.

The food was very good. We liked having our own table for meals (instead of having to sit with all the other guests). The view from the dining room was fantastic. The staff was very friendly and responsive. On our second night the staff sang songs and danced. That was a special treat.

The game drives were good, no complaints. The drivers were friendly." See all these reviews: 19n in Namibia

"Doro Nawas review"

2 nights Arrived 22 Sep 2013
"The lodge at Doro Nawas sits on a hill and has a lovely view of the surrounding countryside from the dining room, verandah and rooftop patio. The lodge staff were friendly and helpful. For example, a staff member spotted that one of our tires had a slow leak and changed it for us. He could have let us leave without saying anything, but his concern saved us a lot of hot dusty work at the side of the road. We really appreciated his effort.

We saw a herd of elephants by the side of the road as we neared the lodge, but didn't see them during our evening game drive from the lodge. We drove ourselves to see the rock carvings at Twyfelfontaine - highly recommended." See all these reviews: 15n in Namibia; 6n in Botswana; 1n in South Africa

"Doro Nawas was stunningly stark"

2 nights Arrived 20 Sep 2013
"We enjoyed a good walk in a desolate part of the world and a great hunt per land rover to track down and finally sight the desert elephants.

We also had a rewarding and interesting time viewing the Bushmen engravings at Twyfelfontein - which we did ourselves - we considered the tour cost to be too expensive.

As it happens, the World Heritage sight provides an excellent guide guide in any case.

The main facility is well located with excellent views from a beautifully shaded veranda" See all these reviews: 11n in Namibia

"Doro Nawas - an oasis in the desert"

2 nights Arrived 20 Sep 2013
"Friendly, well-trained and attentive staff made for a very comfortable stay. Our guide, Reinhold, eventually tracked down the desert elephants after a long hunt. He was pleasant but could do with a bit more training on demonstrating the flora and fauna.

Our outing to Twyfelfontein was a highlight - we drove ourselves. The rock engravings were fascinating. Our guide was very knowledgeable. The pertified foresr was also worth a short visit." See all these reviews: 11n in Namibia

"Doro Nawas landscape is stunning"

1 night Arrived 8 Sep 2013
"Wish we had more time as we only spent one night. Loved the outdoor showers.

One of the staff noticed in the morning that our car had a flat. He arranged to fix the tire while we were having breakfast. Great service.

I wish the food at the two Wilderness Safari lodges we stayed at was of higher quality." See all these reviews: 7n in Namibia; 4n in Botswana; 2n in Zambia
