"Loved it!"
Much as I enjoy safari outings the lack of exercise can be wearing. Erongo Wilderness Lodge has a number of walks leading from the camp. We did the Sundowner and Baboon walks. Both were of easy to moderate difficulty and had great views at the top.
I also went to Paula's Cave. Saw lots of birds and some animals (baboons, zebra, dikdik) on the drive. The art itself is quite interesting.
The birding was very good with lots of noisy lovebirds flitting about and a number of endemics (Monteiro's hornbill, rock runner, etc). Casually sitting on my deck with ordinary binoculars and a pocket guide I spotted over 20 species.
Speaking of which the views off the deck are spectacular. Absolutely loved the design of this place. Tents were nestled into the rocks and angled away from each other to enhance privacy.
The food was very good and the service friendlier than usual. Walked with Clausus (not entirely sure about his name, he's from the Caprivi area) and he was fun to spend time with.
The pool was a little murky, but they had a severe water shortage. So that's quite understandable." See all these reviews: 16n in Namibia
"Erongo lodge"
One caveat: beware the glasses of wine they serve; they are extremely liberal and oil large glasses to the brim.l" See all these reviews: 12n in Namibia

"Unique stay in middle of Erongo mountains"
Very nice facilities with excellent breakfast and overall felt very personal and homey. The walks in the nature are also very nice and give a great view over the area." See all these reviews: 20n in Namibia
"Great scenery"
Not the most prolific place for animals apart from baboons but excellent for bird watching and nature walks. Very helpful staff and first class food.
Maureen enjoyed the birthday cake and singing greeting and my 'HOT TODDY' after getting a chill from a rain soaking at our previous lodge. Many thanks to Elaine the Manageress. Sorry to move on from this place." See all these reviews: 11n in Namibia
"Erongo Wilderness Lodge review"
"Erongo - hidden among the boulders"
This camp also has several well-blazed hiking trails among the boulders. You can go on a guided walk or on your own. We did both. Our guide, Manuel, was excellent -- nice and well informed about the various flora and fauna. Highly recommend taking advantage of both options.
The nearby town of Omaruru aspires toward the artistic and has engaging ambience - worth a trip and a beer." See all these reviews: 14n in Namibia

"Terrific for birding and walks. Good stop."
Good food, served on lovely terrace. Very friendly new manager. Love birds at 7 am from terrace a particular attraction - also lots of other birds. Only sorry there was no room/ time for a longer stay.
The only negative comment is that the mosiquito nets in our rooms were totally inadequate - did not fit around the bed, leaving a large gap where the nets were meant to overlap and lots of holes. Fortunately it was not mosquito season. If it weren't for this I would rate room excellent." See all these reviews: 10n in Namibia
