My Feb 2023 trip
Botswana between 8 Feb 2023 and 16 Feb 2023
Arranged By Tom Morris
Botswana Private Mobile Safari

Mma Dinare
"Mma Dinare review"
The staff and facilities were excellent and seemed to be maintained well. The location, because it was further from the river/water was not quite as exciting but it was still very good. We preferred previous arrangements where the Guide ate with us, whereas here it was the manager.
Our guide was really excellent and his style of explaining and "teaching" was really good - he encouraged us to workout what we were seeing [especially birds] rather than just telling us.
He responded to our wishes about what we wanted to see rather than decide or assume what it was we wanted."

It's the Africa we love.

Lagoon Camp
"Lagoon Camp review"
The staff were delightful, friendly and obliging.
Because of the on-going problems of Covid we had the place to ourselves so we had great treatment although it was clear that the staff are well trained and motivated."
Splash Camp
"Splash Camp review"
I suspect that the lack of visitors has meant that some maintenance may have been neglected [vegetation outside the lodge is partly obscuring the view from the verandah]

Mundulea Reserve
"Mundulea Reserve review"
Small and intimate with fantastically knowledgeable people running the operation. It was fantastic to be able to get out of the vehicle and walk around with our guides whose knowledge was invaluable.
The food was good camp food - plain but delicious. The accommodation was perfectly comfortable but more basic than others."

"Twee Rivieren Rest Camp review"
Basic facilities in the camp. Good location for game viewing."
The advance information was perfectly clear but some our party didn't know exactly what we'd get!
In the end we were not disappointed or shocked, even when at the start of our trip the region experienced rainfall not experienced in many years. We drove for four hours in torrential rain to our camp and arrived to find a swamp. But the local team had done everything they could to ameliorate the worst. There was no panic and when the rain did eventually stop within a few hours 'normal service' was restored.
Our time with the guide [Andrew] was really first class. His knowledge and experience was excellent and he responded to our interests, needs and wishes throughout.
Andrew was great. He was knowledgable and enthusiastic and his experience was obvious. We had a great rapport with Andrew. We felt able to make our interests and preferences clear to him and he responded accordingly. His knowledge of Nxai Pan is obvious and he was able to provide us with a useful perspective of the geography and history of the wider Okavango region. He has built an excellent support team around him and can't compliment them enough.
Their service we received from the support team at the camp was truly outstanding. We cannot compliment the quality - especially the food - enough.
In the end the challenging start [due to the rain] only contributed to the feeling that we were treated to the adventure that we'd hoped for, albeit that at the time"
