Erongo Wilderness Lodge sits amongst huge granite whalebacks and boulders in the Erongo Mountains.
It is hard to appreciate the scale of the place until you are here - these hills are spectacular.
The tented chalets are dotted amongst rocky boulders.
The rooms are very comfortable with mosquito nets around the beds.
Each room has comfortable chairs...
...and a minibar which is stocked on request.
At the back of the chalet is an en-suite bathroom with flush toilet...
and shower.
Each chalet has a large outside deck for relaxing and enjoying the views.
The main area sits atop a separate hill with a spacious outdoor deck with lovely views.
Rosy faced love birds are often spotted from here.
Inside is a comfy lounge...
and dining area with indoor...
and outdoor dining.
The reception is also a curio shop selling local artifacts.
The food here is very good...
and imaginatively presented.
Activities from Erongo involve exploring the surrounding area...
...either by vehicle...
...walking amongst the rocky landscape...
...or enjoying a scenic sundowner.
There's even some recently-discovered rock art that can be visited...
...in a cave on one of the hillsides.
You may also see Hartmann's mountain zebra...
...and you are sure to see rock hyrax or 'dassie' around the camp...
...as well as the stunning Namibian rock agama.
