Tribe: picture gallery

Tribe, is one of Nairobi's most popular and stylish locations for events and launches.
From reception…
…into the impressive atrium…
…with its sweeping lines…
…at the heart of the hotel…
…to the corridors of artworks…
…and quirky corners…
…Tribe is a hotel that deliberately sets out to impress.
Among a wide range of facilities, there's a TV and audio room…
…a good gym…
…and the lavish Kaya spa.
Dining in the Jiko restaurant…
…offers a range of seating options…
…including more private corners…
…or you can eat outside by the pool and water gardens.
The upper part of the pool terrace…
…is like a series of large stepping stones…
…with a seemingly infinite variety of routes and connections.
The swimming pool itself is subtly separated, but distinctly different in colour…
…and spreads out above the lower rooms.
Rooms in the main building are much closer to the central parts of the hotel.
Superior rooms (the standard class of room at Tribe) are reasonably large…
…and very well furnished.
There's plenty of attention to detail, with sensibly thought out furnishings and amenities…
…all done in Tribe's irregular, curved and crooked signature style.
This approach naturally extends to the bathrooms, with their 'on-display' bathing arrangements.
However, the showers…
…and loos are screened by frosted glass doors.
And the wash basin area is agreeably minimalist and uncluttered.
We think the deluxe rooms – if you can get one – are a significant cut above…
…and worth the modest supplement.
…for the extra square metres.
In this example, #606, the spacious bathroom…
…extends behind the TV…
…but there's no bath tub.
