"Ole-Sereni review"

3 nights Arrived 23 Dec 2023
"The hotel staff is helpful, the food was great at breakfast and dinner and the rooms overlooking the Safari park are fun. We had our first sighting of two rhino from our hotel room.

Also the gift shop is well stocked and well priced. The best thing was the Christmas Eve dinner and the gorgeous choir that sang in the dining room. One of the most beautiful Christmas experiences ever.

The downside is the hotel is not very posh, the bathrooms are small, and although rooms overlook the Safari park, there is a road in between and unless you have a good camera/binoculars you won’t see much. Also it would be nearly impossible to walk anywhere from the hotel." See all these reviews: 10n in Kenya; 3n in Rwanda

"Wildlife observation out of the hotel room"

1 night Arrived 17 Jan 2022
"We stayed at Ole-Sereni just for one night before flying back home. The Hotel is located in the former US Embassy directly at Nairobi National Park.

Even without binoculars we were able to observe Buffalos, Hartebeests and Reedbucks through the window of our hotel room. Although lying between two busy main roads it was a nice place to stay at the end of our safari and not too far away from JKIA (nevertheless the transfer to the airport may last anything between 30 minutes and 3 hours - the traffic in Nairobi is unpredictable !!!)

We haven't had any activities - so we can't rate them" See all these reviews: 16n in Kenya

"A useful airport type stopover, however our visit was spoilt by a group of some 20 south african travel "agents" drunken behaviour which the hotel security seem unable to control." See all these reviews: 13n in Kenya

"day room at Ole Sereni"

1 night Arrived 29 Aug 2019
"When I arrived at this hotel at approximately 12.30 pm I was told my day room was not ready and would not be for around 20 mins. Actually, it was about 1 hour and as I was at the hotel for only a few hours before my evening flight with BA I consider this very poor value for the (I think) £300 I was paying.

Otherwise the room was nice enough (when I got it) but I think I would probably have been better off at the Crowne Plaza." See all these reviews: 11n in Kenya

"An expanded return"

2 nights Arrived 2 Jan 2019
"Although we have stayed at Ole-Sereni several times before this was our first two-night stopover and therefore the first time we had had dinner there. We chose to dine in the Eagle Restaurant on the top floor and found it to be excellent - good food and an appropriate wine list to accompany, coupled by quality service.

As it happens breakfast (which we have missed more often than we have partaken thereof) the following morning was also in the Eagle thanks to renovation work in the normal restaurant; again, excellent especially coupled with daylight views across the Nairobi NP.

Other than this, suffice it to say that we specifically asked to be put in the Ole-Sereni for our stay in Nairobi based on past experience and would have no hesitation doing so again especially once the wholesale rebuilding currently in the pipeline is concluded" See all these reviews: 12n in Kenya
