We had very little sleep!!!"
Serian
"Mara North Conservancy"
Only a few vehicles on each sighting which was particularly good for Leopard/Lion. We also had in James an expert guide who knew how the animals would behave. The Masai staff were particularly good."
Serian Nkorombo
"Mara reserve"
The downside is the reserve regulations which prevent any off road or late evening driving. You have to be back in camp by dusk"

Eka Hotel
"poor value for $300/nite"
The Eka and its more expensive neighbour, the Ole-Sereni, are the closest hotels we use to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport; it's 12km away. (The closest “airport hotel", the Panari, is 11km from JKIA, but not in our programme as we don’t feel it offers a high enough standard for the cost).
Our other low-cost options are either much more modest (such as the convenient but simple Aero Club at Wilson Airport), or much further away (for example the very pleasant Macushla House, in Langata). So we're sorry that the Eka felt like poor value - but despite this, we are confident that we are currently offering the best-value options for overnight stays relatively close to Nairobi International airport.
