"Back to basics"

I visited Kenya between 23 Dec 2018 and 4 Jan 2019
"As noted in our comments on Kicheche, the bulk of this trip was something of a throwback to times past for us.

This was not only for the fact that we spent time focused on the Mara megafauna but also because in Nairobi we indulged in the 'mainstream' safari-related activities of visiting the elephant orphanage and the giraffe centre.

It was all highly enjoyable and a reminder of many of the things which make Kenya a very special country in which to go on safari." Read full review: 12 nights in Africa; 12 on a Kenya safari

"Trip of a Lifetime"

I visited Kenya between 21 Dec 2018 and 6 Jan 2019
"Returning to Kenya where we worked and met 30+ years ago was always going to be emotional. Taking our grown up family (3 children, a son and daughter in law) to share the experience with us was something we had always hoped to do. They all loved every minute of the trip and now understand why we have always been so passionate about Africa, and Kenya in particular. Yes of course it has changed, particularly around Nairobi, but there is much that is the same - the people are friendly, helpful and all loved our story, there is a sense of optimism and they have done so well to ban plastic bags - hopefully the bottles will be replaced too one day! We were worried we would be disappointed but we have had the holiday of a lifetime. It is a pity Kenya's tourism industry is not more buoyant as the country has so much to offer. Safety is an issue but we took the advice given to us about where we could safely walk (particularly at Tiwi Beach ) and we never felt in any sort of danger. It is also pretty essential to have a local guide with you, eg for climbing Mt Longonot, and as we cycled through Hell's Gate Freddy was never far behind us!
Thank you Richard for spending so much time talking to me and understanding what we wanted to do - I know we don't fit the usual holiday requirements of most people but it was worth every minute of the detailed planning and finding the right accommodation!" "Christmas Trip 2018"

I visited Kenya between 15 Dec 2018 and 25 Dec 2018
"We had an absolutely fantastic trip. We stayed at 3 different camps (for 3 nights each) which provided variety in terms of landscape, wildlife and accommodation. Each place was unique and incredible. We ended the trip with Christmas Day in Nairobi. We truly loved Kenya!" Read full review: 10 nights in Africa; 9 on a Kenya safari

"Nov 18 Safari"

I visited Kenya between 13 Nov 2018 and 20 Nov 2018
"Kenya was our second safari, and we had the most amazing experience.

Special thanks to Richard for answering my myriad of questions with patience, and putting together such a fabulous holiday. Everything ran to schedule, there were no issues whatsoever, and it was all planned in meticulous detail by Richard. I contacted a few firms when booking the trip, and was very impressed with Richard, and intended to book with Expert Africa even if they didn't give the cheapest quote - but in fact they did, the price was really excellent considering it included so many flights and transfers and excursions.

We really enjoyed the different experiences in Samburu and the Mara, and can highly recommend this combination. To sum up, Saruni was the best experience in terms of lodge and stay, but the wildlife was much much more prolific at Ol Seki, and so it was great to combine the two.

All in all it was amazing, and now we cannot wait to return." Read full review: 7 nights in Africa; 6 on a Kenya safari

"My Sep 2018 trip"

I visited Zanzibar and 1 other country between 14 Sep 2018 and 27 Sep 2018
"We had a brilliant holiday. We enjoyed our stay in Stone Town, a very interesting place, and our stay at Pongwe Beach was very relaxing and everything we could ask of a beach stay. Our safari experience was on a different scale, exceeding our expectations on every level. It’s hard to imagine how it could have been bettered. More than half of the people we met at the Kicheche Mara camp were repeat customers. They really have got everything right." Read full review: 13 nights in Africa; 7 on a Zanzibar holiday
