"Basecamp Leopard Hill review"
We were provided with two young guides; Kimberly and Dominic who also belong to the Maasai tribe. They were very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful throughout our 4 days with them. Their open top/windowless Jeep allowed us to experience the abundance of wildlife up close and personal. Assuring us that we were safe at all times.
Moving on to the wildlife; our very first Game Drive immediately presented us with 4 of the big 5. We saw Cheetah, Lion, Elephants and Buffalo. Our guides also enjoyed the experience with us, appreciating the fact that we were very interested in the flora and fauna rather than just for the pictures. All other game drives were just as rewarding, each providing a splendid experience.
We also recommend taking some extra time to go out of your way and visit the two White Rhinos protected from poachers. The main guard; Stephen, was very thorough with his explanation of their situation and answered any questions we had. They are very docile and we could get close to take pictures and learn more about them.
Overall, this experience was up there with the best. We really recommend everyone visit Basecamp, spend time with the Maasai. A special shout out goes to; William, Manfred, Daniel, Milton, Musuliu, Agnes, Mash, Kimberley, Dominic, Dennis and David who all showed us so much hospitality. We are safe in now calling them our friends! We cannot thank them enough for the amazing experience." See all these reviews: 8n in Kenya; 4n in Rwanda
"Basecamp Leopard Hill was an amazing experience"
The accommodation were beyond our expectation. We loved the coffee delivered in the morning with the homemade banana muffins. The hot water bottles awaiting us in our bed every night was a great touch. Loved the indoor/outdoor showers.
The staff were excellent and could not do enough for us. The food was excellent. The chef and his staff were outstanding.
Our guide Manfred was excellent. He is very experience guiding for the safaris. He put us in the ideal positions to view the animals over and over again. He could anticipate the movements of the animals. It was a pleasure spending 5 days with Manfred. Such a nice man!!" See all these reviews: 6n in Rwanda; 6n in Kenya
"Heavenly Leopard Hill"
Food was delicious and chef Robin was always on hand to chat about options and preferences: his various chilled soups were a delight and perfect for lunch.
Guiding was outstanding - we had Nash - a thoroughly engaging, extremely friendly and enthusiastic guide who completely knows her stuff and is fun to explore the bush with. We hit all of the high points, including a spectacular lion kill of a large male impala before our very eyes.
My only grump about Leopard Hill is that drinks are extra. Given the experience it offers, one might expect that local drinks were included in the tariff. Beyond that - it is faultless." See all these reviews: 10n in Kenya
"Amazing place!"
This really is a luxury camp. The tents were very comfortable and well furnished and the food was varied and very tasty (especially the beef fillet!).
The staff are fantastic - all very friendly and really cannot do enough for you - we felt very spoilt! It was my birthday while we were at the camp and the staff really went the extra mile to make it a special and memorable day.
Our guide Edward did an amazing job. He knows the land and animals really well and was very knowledgeable. We felt completely safe with him at all times - he really took care of us. He also went out of his way to give us the best wildlife viewings that he could and was very patient in helping me to see a Leopard in the bushes that I was struggling to see (it was well camouflaged!). The Naboisho Conservancy has such a high density of wildlife - it really is a very special place.
Overall we had a wonderful time and felt incredibly well looked after throughout our stay. I would highly recommend Leopard Hill - so glad that we chose to stay there." See all these reviews: 4n in Kenya
