"Entamanu review"
I wonder if it might be a good idea to have some games to entertain yourself with between game drives.
The walking safari was great-good length-good scenery and saw a perspective you don't from the car.
Dinner was delicious...lots of food.
There was an uncomfortable questions about giving feedback on the place during dinner which we were happy to do but briefly and then more and more questions came and eventually you think OK they aren't being polite they really do want feedback. Then when any negative comments were made this wasn't taken well.
Probably made some faux pas along the way-which caused offence-but the only negative thing we said was about the number of tour agents at the place and the booking procedure is quite un-transparent ie you need a tour operator. (sorry)
This is a great place to stay...close to the crater...going down really early does pay off!" See all these reviews: 13n in Tanzania
"A great introduction to safari in Tanzania"
We enjoyed the journey to Empimnau crater to see the masses of Flamingo ( despite the long drive it was great countryside and gave a real feel for the nomadic grazing ).
The climb down to the lake is steep but worthwhile when you get close to the thousands of Flamingo which line the lake shores." See all these reviews: 20n in Tanzania
"Entamanu Ngorongoro review"
The only negative for me was the dust. We travelled to Entamanu near the end of the dry season. The dust going to and from the crater each day was almost unbearable for me. In fact I took a whole day off from game drives as I could not tolerate the long, dusty ride.
It was very windy when we were at Entamanu and we were awake a lot in the tent as our tent flapped constantly in the wind. Perhaps this location, if it is often windy, should have a more permanent structure, rather than the tents." See all these reviews: 9n in Tanzania; 4n in Rwanda
Unfortunately the wind in this location is an issue and the camp has taken many steps to try to mitigate its effects, although clearly they have further work to do if possible. The conditions of the camp's residency in the park are such that a permanent structure is actually prohibited, hence the tented nature of the camp. We are confident that the owners of Entamanu will continue to try to improve guests' experiences with respect to the wind and noise, and also ensure future travellers understand what to expect when staying here.

"Entamanu Ngorongoro review"
Staff were fantastic and food was excellent.
It was cold at night but they were well-prepared with fires and hot water bottles.
The accompanied walk from the camp was excellent - it felt very real being on foot for a while rather than being in a safari vehicle." See all these reviews: 7n in Tanzania

Staff were extremely helpful in re-scheduling one of our flights and in organizing a surprise sundowner.
Very slick operation!" See all these reviews: 8n in Tanzania; 4n in Rwanda
"New mobile camp at Ngorongoro crater"
Attractive central dining and bar area, welcome fire and good food. First class manager - Ben.
We were met at Lake Manyara airport by Ian, our guide. Although he was aware that we were only spending 2 nights at Entamanu, he seemed reluctant to get a waggle on and get to the camp, to be able to enjoy activities on offer (guided walks, local village visit, etc). It felt as though he was trying to conserve fuel by sticking to 40mph on the good tarmac roads from the airport to the Conservation Area entry gates, and we had quite a battle to persuade him to arrange a hike with one of the park rangers. We were keen to get some exercise, and the 2 hour hike from the park rangers lodge to Entamanu was enjoyable and just what we needed.
The visit down into the crater was a unique experience, and the game sightings good, although cheetahs and rhino were still in hiding. Again our guide seemed to want to cut short our visit to the crater, and we had to insist on seeing a fine lake that attracted lots of wildlife, and would have been a great spot for the picnic."
