"Location is convenient between two airports. Furniture in rooms is a bit tired.

Staff was very accommodating. Lots of monkeys to watch.

A relaxing place to stay." See all these reviews: 8n in Tanzania

"Good overnight stay"

1 night Arrived 9 Sep 2015
"Rivertrees worked well for us as a convenient overnight stay upon our arrival in Arusha.

It was comfortable and the staff was helpful. Our room was spacious and attractive. The property is a little worn looking in areas, but fit our needs well." See all these reviews: 12n in Tanzania

"Ideal Accommodation Near Arusha"

1 night Arrived 9 Jun 2015
"Rivertrees Country Inn was our first accommodation upon arriving in Africa. The beautiful, lush grounds were perfect for settling into "Africa time". We especially enjoyed lounging on the deck overlooking the small Usa River. And we thoroughly enjoyed the gourmet pizza served around the campfire. The cottage style garden rooms were comfortably appointed and private.

The location was ideal. Close, but not too close, to Kilimanjaro Airport. Close to, but far enough from the bustle of Arusha. And very close to the Ngongongare Gate, Arusha National Park.

I highly recommend spending a day in Arusha National Park (separate booking), especially upon arriving in Tanzania. Arusha National Park does not have the reputation of its renowned neighbors, but we were pleasantly impressed. The park offers scenic views of Mt Meru, plentiful game viewing opportunities, an enjoyable walking safari, and a chance to observe the black-and-white Colobus monkey.

We stayed at three different facilities near Arusha (Rivertrees, KIA Lodge, and Mt Meru Hotel), two of which were booked through our Kilimanjaro climb guide company. Rivertrees Country Inn was by far our favorite of the three." See all these reviews: 9n in Zambia; 7n in Tanzania; 6n in Botswana; 3n in Zanzibar; 2n in South Africa

"Pleasantly relaxing start to safari"

1 night Arrived 16 Aug 2014
"It's a beautiful setting at Rivertrees and the grounds are delightful.

Quirky rooms full of character - and a fantastic night's sleep after the long journey! Pleasant food and helpful staff; no pool currently (not that we were wanting this) but work due to start soon apparently.

We enjoyed visiting Arusha National Park (and the canoe experience was fabulous) and would have been happy to spend more than the one night here." See all these reviews: 7n in Tanzania; 5n in Zanzibar

"Oasis of tranquility"

1 night Arrived 6 Aug 2014
"It was such a relief to arrive in Rivertrees. Spacious rooms, warm running water, very attentive staff. Despite the fact that the pool was closed due to renovation, we enjoyed a quiet afternoon under the trees by the river.

The massage was OK but the towels and sheets used clearly not fresh." See all these reviews: 12n in Tanzania

"Rivertrees Country Inn review"

1 night Arrived 23 Jul 2014
"A nice place in grounds but the overall ambience is a little depressing if the light is not great as the grounds are rather surrounded by tall trees and schrubs.

Staff work hard to look after you." See all these reviews: 15n in Tanzania

The rooms were very pleasant and clean. (Its difficult to say much more as we arrived at 4.30 am due to a late flight and were off on safari by 11 am later that morning)." See all these reviews: 7n in Tanzania; 5n in Zanzibar

"Rivertrees Country Inn review"

1 night Arrived 18 Sep 2011
"Beautiful location - outside the hustle and bustle of Arusha, peaceful relaxing setting, excellent food and service. It was the perfect location for starting the trip (went from the airport to Rivertrees, then set off the next day for safari).

The only annoyance was having to pay extra for drinks (food was covered in the reservation, but we had to pay extra for bottles of coke and water). Seemed a bit silly." See all these reviews: 12n in Tanzania

"Very nice and relaxing - beautiful setting"

1 night Arrived 17 Sep 2011
"We missed the stayover on the way in due to problems with Kenya Air being late; however, we did stay at Rivertrees on the last day (day room) of the trip. The accommodations were top notch.

The open air dining room was very nice and the food was very good. We wished that we could have made the connection in Nairobi on time and stayed at Rivertrees on the way in." See all these reviews: 9n in Tanzania
