"Fantastice room with view of sea!"
2 nights Arrived 15 Feb 2016
"Great location overlooking the sea. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed (possibly permanently). Had to drive into town for dinner.
The Tug : Worth visiting but book in advance - make sure ask for window seat. Outside can be cool so take jacket or fleece.
The room was the best so far. Great window overlooking the sea." See all these reviews: 19n in Namibia

"Can't get closer to the sea than this"
2 nights Arrived 1 Mar 2015
"Beautiful rooms with thoughtful design and amazing sea views. The restaurant (on the top floor) has a good reputation in Swakop and so gets quite busy for dinner. Breakfasts are good. Fantastic to fall asleep and wake up to the sound of the sea on the beach barely twenty metres away. Also a great spot to watch the surfers.
Swakopmund is a ten minute drive away through the streets of holiday homes. To a European, the town itself is not really that special - plenty of shops, diverse but not outstanding architecture. One hidden treasure was the Swakopmund museum - an amazingly eclectic collection of geologic, botanical, historical and cultural information, with a few stuffed animals thrown in for good measure!" "Magnificent - don't miss it!"
3 nights Arrived 24 Oct 2014
"What a lovely hotel. The restaurant is to die for. Sumptious food, excellent service and stunning views all along the coast-line. For food loving birdwatchers it was heaven. Superb cuisine at reasonable prices while watching flamingoes fly past one way, pelicans the other and curlews grazing the shore-line! We only stopped for 3 nights and would have liked to stay longer. We were dreadfully dissappointed that the restaurant was closed on Sunday evening. it's best to book a window table on-line before you go as it can get busy. Take a jacket as it is quite a bit cooler than other locations in Namibia. Don't forget to take your binoculars into the dining room. No mobility issues as mostly on lower level with lift to restaurant."

"...and through the Round Window"
2 nights Arrived 20 Oct 2014
"...a view of the ocean. Located on the beach at the edge of town, a great base in Swakopmund for those with a hire car.
Very different to being out in the bush, but a good contrast for a couple of days. An unusal building, but great views of the ocean from the bed through the very large windows. We had two good meals in the modern 'Wreck' restaurant, which was obvioulsy busy and popular.
Whilst at Beach Lodge these travellers undertook a kayaking excursion to Pelican Point. Here's what they said about it:
Another 'must do' experience while in Namibia, kayaking with seals!
After a drive out to Pelican Point by jeep, we put on wet-suits and headed out into the bay to look for the wildlife. Very lucky to see the rare sight of three African Penguins swimming close by. Also saw a few dolphins that swam alongside for a while. The main attraction though were the thousands of seals which enjoyed splashing around amongst the kayaks. Great fun, and very difficult to photograph!
Our guide, Craig, was knowledgable about the local area and wildlife, especially the birds. We saw many varieties including pink flamingos and even a Pelican himself." See all these reviews: 15n in Namibia

"Luxury at Beach Lodge"
2 nights Arrived 22 Sep 2014
"We were upgraded to a family suite with a luxurious bedroom overlooking the sea, very pleasant. We also ate in their Wreck restaurant which is very nice again with views of the sea but he food was a little disappointing after the reviews we had read.
Swakopmund has numerous interesting shops and fine buildings. We did the all day trip from Walvis Bay to Sandwich harbour with a return through and over the dunes - very exciting and great fun with expert driving by our guide, Kurt of Sandwich Harbour Tours." See all these reviews: 13n in Namibia

"A modern, very comfortable room with sea view"
2 nights Arrived 13 Sep 2014
"Watching flamingos fly by while sitting in bed with a cup of tea in the morning was a delight, breakfast in the restaurant was excellent with good choice and view over the sea. The room was very comfortable, and the enormous bathroom with shower and bath helped us relax.
The hotel was a bit difficult to find as the town has expanded faster than the maps can show, made more difficult by the lack of road names in the new built area and our approach from the north.
A closed restaurant and no laundry on Sunday was frustrating. They made up for the restaurant being fully booked when we arrived Saturday mid afternoon by serving a very enjoyable dinner in our room.
Overall a less than perfect choice for a weekend as it is quite far out of town but during the week would be great." See all these reviews: 23n in Namibia; 9n in Botswana

"Beach Lodge review"
2 nights Arrived 14 Aug 2014
"Beautiful location. Lovely house. The evening meal and breakfast in the Wreck restaurant were excellent.
We were rather disappointed about our room. We thought that we had booked a superior room but only got a basic one. We were on the ground floor and couldn't have the window open because it had no lock on it and opened fully. The huge bathroom window had no covering and looked out onto the car park so after dark I ( modestly) had to use it without the light on. The heater was inadequate and the room was very cold the first night we arrived.
There was no general area to sit together, only a small sofa in the reception area." See all these reviews: 11n in Namibia
