"Last day in Namibia"
The other guests were all Germans who had been on a trip and this was their rest for 2/3 days so they were quite miserable - not much fun lying round the pool in scarves and fleeces.
The food was probably the worst of the trip. We left at 10am and went to Daan Viljoen Game Park which turned out to be a nice end to the holiday. On reflection we would have missed out on Eningu." See all these reviews: 11n in Namibia; 5n in Botswana
She commented that the cold weather was unexpected, but the southerly wind brought rain that the country sorely needed at that time of the year. The lodge made a cozy fire indoors, and offered warm drinks throughout the day. Fortunately the cold was mainly in the morning, so walks around Eningu in the afternoon were still usually pleasant.
Kate is personally involved at the lodge, often even helping with the service of meals and drinks, and she commented that the menu that particular evening was:
* Springbok & wild honey pastry served with oven baked parmesan & garlic
bread
* Hartebeest fillet with smoked springbok, served with a white onion gravy &
potato croquettes and vegetables from the garden.
* Homemade Italian fresh banana ice-cream served with a homemade cognac
truffle.
She comments that she has taken this feedback very seriously, and remains committed to trying to deliver the highest standards possible.
