"Great trips at Okonjima"
Rooms comfortable, food excellent and yet again friendly, helpful staff.
We did the leopard hunt (leopard finally spotted just before it got dark) and the cheetah hunt on foot. Would recommend both but would advise doing the leopard hunt in the morning rather than afternoon if possible as it got dark too quickly (5.30pm).
Only suggestion would be for the staff to give you a written outline of the various trips on offer on arrival - this is much easier to take in than the spoken word.
Restaurant was cold in the evening - more gas needed for the patio heaters !" See all these reviews: 16n in Namibia

We went leopard tracking and although we were excited to see a leopard I now have my doubts about vehicles following the animal with its radio collar. At least two vehicles were on its tail." See all these reviews: 18n in Namibia

And while we were very happy to see a leopard and a cheetah it did seem contrived to use a tracking device to find them." See all these reviews: 9n in Namibia

Then we had the best time on both the cheetah tracking and the leopard tracking. Our guide Michael was so skilled and informative that it really added to our safari trips and we got to within metres of the cheetahs and followed a leopard.
Again the meals were delicious." See all these reviews: 5n in Namibia
"Return to Okonjima"
It is also a more acceptable way of allowing lots of people to see them as I find the idea of several vehicles chasing after stalking predators abhorrent and at least we know that these beautiful animals will be cared for if necessary.
At the same time the idea of educating people about the dreadful treatment we mete out to these animals is laudable. They do a good job here." See all these reviews: 17n in Namibia

We thought the wine was very expensive and the game drives quite pricey although we accept that some of the money is used in their fine efforts in conservancy, which are highly laudable.
A very happy experience and we met and chatted to our fellow guests in a very convivial atmosphere." See all these reviews: 7n in Namibia
"Okonjima Main Camp review"
"Fantastic experience."
Our chalet was super and there was bird seed to feed the birds (and a hungry warthog!). We tracked cheetah on foot and leopard from the safari vehicle. No opportunity to drive yourselves around but we didn't want this as we hoped to see cheetah and leopard and did just that we the help of the guides.
The staff prepared our dinner table with a crad from them all wishing us Happy Anniversary and included a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine.
This was a wonderful stay and we can't praise it enough." See all these reviews: 10n in Namibia

Only negative point was that at meal times we had no opportunity to eat as a couple as we were seated with others on a large table.
Don't miss afternoon tea and cake: not for dieters." See all these reviews: 20n in Namibia
"Okonjima Bush Camp Review"
Extremely comfortable, huge room. Very reluctant to leave. Outstandingly good food, staff, everything. Providing bird food outside room was a nice touch.
Very close encounters with leopards, cheetah and wild dogs. Stunning. Loved the owners commitment to the cause.
Faultless. Highlight of our trip. Not to be missed." See all these reviews: 14n in Namibia
