"Bullsport Guest Farm review"

2 nights Arrived 1 Oct 2016
"We wanted to understand the challenges of farming in arid conditions and because both owners and family all sat with guests at diner and breakfast we were able to listen to their commentary of their lives. we felt very welcome on this farm and were able to walk freely over the huge territory they own.

Cake and tea is set out at 16:00 hrs and the backdrop of their mountains and the veld was fantastic.

A wonderful drive and walk down the Naukluft Valley which is a must for any visitor. so much to see with wonderful animals and birds and plants.

Perhaps the only comment was that the food was just OK. But it was the same food that everyone was eating and I loved being all together at the table, but we would certainly return." See all these reviews: 20n in Namibia

"Only go for lovely gorge walk"

2 nights Arrived 9 Sep 2016
"Sadly the owners have lost their sparkle since our previous visit. Employee relations also appeared strained.

The 3hr gorge walk remains spectacular. Only natural flowing water seen in Namibia. Klipspringer and baboon, and leopard tracks." See all these reviews: 17n in Namibia

"Bullsport Guest Farm review"

4 nights Arrived 11 Aug 2016
"We loved our four-day stay at Bullsport, and while I've marked Food and Activities below as good, I would say they were very good.

Johanna, Ernst and Jonathan were incredibly welcoming, they couldn't do enough for you and we very much appreciated their local knowledge and entertaining stories re life in Namibia and the challenges they face living on a farm. The location is stunning, and we loved going for walks on their land in the afternoon, and especially the hike through Quiver Tree Gorge. Horse-riding was also fun and my son loved all the dogs. Rooms were comfortable and very clean and service overall was excellent.

We hope to return one day." See all these reviews: 17n in Namibia

"Great for a night but could have happily had another - nice walks. Strongly recommend the quiver tree gorge.

We drove up from the bottom in our own car and spent a couple of hours walking up and down again." See all these reviews: 9n in Namibia

"Good stopover location"

1 night Arrived 3 Aug 2016
"A great location as a stopover between Windhoek and the coast - one night is probably enough and the horse riding is recommended.

Food is communally served and home style cooking is provided. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and set in a genuinely desert environment with no neighbours for miles around.

We found the owners exceptionally helpful and friendly, and would recommend Bullsport to anyone looking to break up their journey." See all these reviews: 13n in Namibia

"Bullsport Guest Farm review"

2 nights Arrived 6 Jul 2016
"Again very helpful staff. Nice to be able to mix with the owners at meal times (even invited us into their own home to watch the football) Had a good trip up into the mountains followed by a rather long and difficult walk back. Definitely worth breaking the journey for a couple of nights." See all these reviews: 17n in Namibia

"Wonderful family operation"

2 nights Arrived 1 Jun 2016
"In some ways this was our favourite place, small, friendly and somewhere where we could learn more about life in Namibia. We eat with the family and other guests and were involved in the discussion of the days activities on the farm and the current problems they are suffering with the long dry spell they are suffering.

On the afternoon of arrival we went for a short walk round the farm and the next day their guide took us higher into the mountains next to the Naukluft Park where we saw Kudu, Zebra, Klipspringer snake eagle and the local Quiver Trees.

After a couple of hours we were dropped off at the top of Quiver Tree Canyon which we were able to descend on foot to be met at the bottom for a short drive back to the lodge. Here we saw our first Rock Dassies and a large bird called a Hamerkop." See all these reviews: 17n in Namibia

"Bullsport Guest Farm review"

2 nights Arrived 28 May 2016
"This was a delightful first stop on our journey.

Ernst and his family were very welcoming and we had a lovely first night sitting around the fire pit chatting with the other guests.

Sharing meals was a great opportunity to hear about Namibia from people that farm and live there. How tough it has been living with drought." See all these reviews: 18n in Namibia

"Bullsport Guest Farm review"

3 nights Arrived 21 May 2016
"We really enjoyed our three night stay here and felt it was a privilege to be part of a family concern giving us an insight into different aspects of Namibian life/culture/historical context.

We listened enthralled by Ernst Sauber talking about the problems the farm encounters - foot and mouth/draught/conservation/leopard attacks etc.and of course the future of Namibia in general

The only disappointment was that Katrina could not go on a Horseriding trail as the horses had been moved away from the farm and Johanna Sauber was away for a couple of days Just bad luck !. Johanna was extremely apologetic.

Probably best to let them know in advance if keen to ride" See all these reviews: 16n in Namibia
