"Etendeka Mountain Camp review"

2 nights Arrived 26 Apr 2008
"An unexpected highlight of the trip. The tents were really comfortable, and the bucket showers were amusing and effective.

The highlights were the morning walk and the evening game drives, all of them with Boni, an exceptional mine of information about geology, the natural environment and local customs, all imparted with enthusiasm and modesty.

Also a superb careful driver, and a great scout - he retraced our steps to find lost sunglasses, which were then posted on to our next destination by our host, Claire. Surely beyond the call of duty !" See all these reviews: 12n in Namibia; 3n in Zambia

"dennnis ,claire and bonny make the place"

2 nights Arrived 12 Apr 2008
"a bit rougher but lots of style and charm. dennis is the best guide possible. great experience to walk with him
but no choice in the activities... you have to do what they do or else..you stay at home... slight boot camp orders...d id not like that too much...but suited me as i worked a lot

tent beds / cheap linens / no mattress covers...charming bucket shower" See all these reviews: 11n in Namibia

"Etendeka review"

2 nights Arrived 23 Oct 2007
"As mentioned previously, this was our favourite place, along with Mowani. Such a comfortable camp, yet very environmentally responsible.

The location in the Etendeka mountains was superb. The walks were interesting and we learnt a lot about the geology and the flora. The game drive with Dennis was great - we saw lots of Hartmanns mountain zebras as well as the usual other animals." See all these reviews: 17n in Namibia

"Etendeka review"

2 nights Arrived 22 Oct 2007
"Nice place to stay for 2 nights - it would be too quiet for us with the kids for any longer. The tents were simple and with lovely views - we particularly like the shower set-up.

Bonnie's guided walk was hot but very interesting - In hindsight we would have preferred to do it even earlier before the heat of the day.

Dennis gave us a wonderful lesson on the stars with the aid of his laserbeam and telescope at 5am and that was one of the highlights of our holiday." See all these reviews: 7n in Namibia

"Amazing Etendeka"

2 nights Arrived 20 Oct 2007
"Amazing experience and would thoroughly recommend this to anyone who is travelling to Namibia

Considering where they are and how difficult it is to get supplies the standard of food was amazing. This set the standard for the rest of the holiday.

Staff were very friendly and knowledgable, Dennis and Claire made us very welcome and Bonnie was a brilliant guide. I even had a great massage!

Accommodation was good - very clean" See all these reviews: 9n in Namibia

"Etendeka for that wilderness experience"

2 nights Arrived 16 Oct 2007
"Location excellent but ambiance of camp site marred by extensive clutter of timber, machinery, work-in-progess air. Tents basic but quite okay. Dining area okay. Food uninspired but okay

Owner absent but staff excellent - welcoming, informative. Guides first rate field skills incl birds, languages, cultural info etc. Good walking in dramatic landcapes with plenty of varied game incl leaopard, aardwolf as well as good nrs of the usual beasts.

This is a camp for people who want to enjoy a wilderness experience and don't mind a somewhat makeshift air about the camp and facilities." See all these reviews: 13n in Namibia

"Must Stay location - fabulous"

2 nights Arrived 25 Jul 2007
"One of our top two locations on our trip. Dennis and Barbara made the whole experience out of this world. Location is fabulous - totally away from everywhere, incredible scenery, totally quiet, extraordinary evenin skies. Camp is comfortable, relaxed, basic and fun. And Dennis' enthusiasm for geology, fauna and flora is infectious. As Chris wrote - what they do they do very well.

Fabulous and informative hiking in the morning and great animal viewing in the afternoon - so different from Etosha; were rally lucky to see a leopard as well as herds of Hartmann Zebra and giraffe etc

Two days is too short" See all these reviews: 13n in Namibia; 2n in Botswana
