"A lovely and very different experience. The only drawback was that most of the walks were cancelled due to heavy rain.

Friendly and helpful staff." See all these reviews: 17n in Namibia

"Erongo Wilderness Lodge-Great Setting"

1 night Arrived 21 Sep 2013
"We were most taken by the setting at Erongo Wilderness Lodge Our trip to the site in the 4by4 set the stage. Our comfortable chalet provided us with great views. We went on a walk to watch the sunset and experienced out first Sundowner. We saw our first animals visiting the waterhole as we were having dinner.

It was a great introduction to uniqueness of Namibia. We only wish we could have had a longer stay." See all these reviews: 7n in Namibia; 6n in Botswana; 3n in South Africa; 2n in Zimbabwe

"Worth more time than we had there"

1 night Arrived 7 Sep 2013
"Unfortunately (thanks to a flight delay), we had only one night at Erongo rather than the two we had planned. This was a shame as it is certainly worth more than one night. This is a very comfortable and well-run camp in an interesting location, with a good birding proposition (there was a large party of American birders staying there while we were there), as well as a scattering of mammal species.

Our guide, Johnny, with whom we did a couple of walks, was very up on his birds and assisted us in finding and indentifying several endemics. It is also very conveniently placed between other popular destinations, with good road access." See all these reviews: 12n in Namibia

"Unbelievable."

2 nights Arrived 31 Aug 2013
"I want to lie and say this place was awful, mainly because I want to keep it to myself. Even on my honeymoon, I cannot say I stayed anywhere near as amazing as this place. I also think we got the best hut from what we could see (no. 10). The staff were fantastic, without hassling. The afternoon tea and breakfast was superb quality.

The room was luxurious with fantastic views and we had chairs, tables and even a mattress all the way around our balcony in order to get a 360 view of our surroundings depending on the sun. We did all the recommended hikes, some alone, some with a guide. All beautiful, but not really challenging. Dinner was great quality. I just did not want to leave. The bathroom in the room is located outside and makes it all the more special.

There were so many things the staff surprised us with, but I'm not going to spoil it for everyone else by revealing what it was. Do stay here and spend the bit of extra money. It is worth it over and over again. Also, do the sundowner walk and make use of all they have to offer. Namibia at its best." See all these reviews: 11n in Namibia

"Heavenly time at Erongo"

1 night Arrived 5 Aug 2013
"Because of the recent fire at Erongo, all the other tourists had (foolishly) cancelled. This meant we had the remarkable good luck to have the whole of Erongo to ourselves. This was an amazing place and a fabulous experience.

The fire had not had any negative impact on the facilities and had been dealt with very well. The place is stunning, incredible scenery, lovely walks, great guide (Johnny) and beautiful tented accommodation." See all these reviews: 12n in Namibia

"Erongo Wilderness Lodge review"

1 night Arrived 21 Jul 2013
"We were given a very warm welcome by the managers Rosella and Volte. We were the only people at Erongo on the night we stayed so were upgraded to the honeymoon suite!

We wished we had booked 2 nights here because the location was stunning and service excellent. We enjoyed a guided sundowner walk up a kopje near the lodge and also a guided sunrise walk with Simon who was an excellent and knowledgable guide." See all these reviews: 16n in Namibia

"Erongo Wilderness Lodge review"

2 nights Arrived 17 Jul 2013
"Beautiful setting in rocky mountains , with tents set to overlook views/ sunset etc and lovely views from dining area. Lots of comfortable places to sit and we were treated to the "honeymoon suite" which had wonderful views, extra seating area outside, outside shower.

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff: our guide was Koolis who told us a lot about Namibian culture and traditional uses of the plants which was fascinating and taught us some Damara.

Several interesting walks: I think game drive available but we did not bother.

All the staff very friendly and enthusiastic - waiters pointing out interesting birds at breakfast. Food excellent and plentiful!" See all these reviews: 15n in Namibia
