"Great location over the river."

1 night Arrived 4 Jul 2019
"Great location above the river, excellent staff, first sighting of hippos and crocodiles, lovely sunset on the river.

Rooms were lovely but could do with blinds on the glass doors in order to keep out the light in early morning.

Also a bit noisy in the early morning when staff arrived at the lodge." See all these reviews: 21n in Namibia; 2n in Zimbabwe

"Interesting Accommodation over the River"

3 nights Arrived 22 Nov 2018
"Interesting accommodation with the bedroom and bathroom in separate buildings on a big deck - a torch is advisable at night! Very comfortable with a large bath and a shower, and a huge bed. The deck overlooked the river with plenty of human activity on the Angolan side and there was a-lot of birdlife in the surrounding trees, so always plenty to watch.

We spent two mornings on fishing activity, which was hugely enjoyable, although we didn't worry the fish!

The new owners are on site and are both hospitable and very easy to talk to, which makes this lodge an intimate and friendly place to stay." See all these reviews: 26n in Namibia

"Beautiful location"

2 nights Arrived 9 Apr 2018
"The rooms are beautifully positioned above the Okavango. About half an hour drive to the local game reserve, with an abundance of animals.

Owners very friendly and enjoy constructing original (very tasty) menus.

Although I enjoyed the sunset river cruise, there really wasn't a lot to see compared to the Chobe a few nights later - a couple of hippos and a crocodile.

However, it is a wonderful place to spend a couple of nights." See all these reviews: 8n in Namibia; 2n in Botswana; 2n in Zambia

"What a beautiful place set in spectacular scenery, we loved everything about this place.

The design of the rooms & bathroom was amazing. The staff were really friendly, our host welcomed us very warmly & we felt they really wanted to share their home, including their lovely 8 year old daughter.

Wonderful setting for the dining area, lovely sofas to lounge in for a sundowner." See all these reviews: 27n in Namibia; 1n in Botswana

"A fantastic location next to the river"

2 nights Arrived 25 Aug 2017
"We loved River Dance Lodge. The buildings have a modern feel and are architecturally interesting - for example, the bathroom and bedroom are on a decked area, with the bathroom as a separate 'pod' Our room had a great view across the river to Angola, facing the sunset. Very romantic and beautiful!

The meals at River Dance are delicious, and a lot of thought is put into the presentation. The service is good.

We also went on a sunset boat trip on the river which was lovely and enabled us to see local people going about their daily lives.

We would recommend River Dance Lodge as a relaxing and comfortable place to stay." See all these reviews: 15n in Namibia; 6n in Botswana; 3n in Zimbabwe; 2n in South Africa

"Lovely Location on the river"

2 nights Arrived 21 Jun 2017
"Evening meals were very good. It was slightly cold while eating so another layer would be well advised for this time of year.

Very restful spot. Birds aplenty and the odd warthog and deer in the lodge grounds.Good location for access to Mahango Park, where we saw lots of birds (first little bee eater)and animals including first hippo.

The lodge is owned and manned by the local community, which helps it run smoothly.

The local petrol station in Divundu accepts credit cards ( you pay in the supermarket)." See all these reviews: 8n in Namibia; 2n in Botswana; 2n in Zambia; 1n in South Africa
