"Comfortable lodge with great river views"

2 nights Arrived 11 Jul 2016
"The lodge is in a lovely location with views across the river of elephants and hippo in good numbers. The boat trips guided by Michael were excellent and the convivial conversation at dinner owed much to Klaus' efforts.

Access to the Mahango National Park is very easy with unusual game (including 20 sable antelopes)." See all these reviews: 12n in Namibia; 6n in Botswana

"Excellent setting right on river"

2 nights Arrived 5 Jul 2016
"Beautiful setting looking out over Okavango to elephants opposite.

Fairly basic camp style but relaxed and comfortable, all ate together in the evenings so met many different people, and Klaus a very attentive host.
He ran slightly rushed game drive in Mahango: we did better ourselves the next day. Well worth a visit. Nice evening river cruise.

Good curio shop selling the hand panted china they use at the lodge.

Worth knowing Klaus runs on Botswana time, i.e. 1 hour ahead of standard Namibia time, as so near the border." See all these reviews: 11n in Namibia; 3n in Botswana

"Ndhovu Safari Lodge - a special place"

2 nights Arrived 11 May 2016
"We absolutely loved our two night stay at Ndhovu.

As the road was flooded we had to leave our car and get punted across the water to the waiting truck then be driven to the lodge, an unexpected and very enjoyable experience.

Johan and Monica were the perfect hosts and are clearly a major factor in the success of this lodge. We enjoyed two sun downer river cruises with Johann whose expert knowledge in all wildlife and in the wider ecology and politics of the area made both trips ones which we will treasure in our memories. Monica and Johann joined guests for the evening meal and were attentive to see that everyone was included in conversation. We learnt a lot about life in Africa from both of them, very interesting people.
Meals were communal with plenty of conversation and the food delicious.

Our tent, while fairly basic, was clean and was very much in keeping with the whole rustic, back to nature feeling of the whole lodge. We drove ourselves into Mahango Game Reserve spending most of the day there and would thoroughly recommend it. Plenty of wildlife including many birds and great to be able to go at your own pace." "Super river location lodge motel"

2 nights Arrived 28 Oct 2015
"Stayed here two nights with these friendly people and enjoyed excellent room, service and food. What more could one ask of a Lodge on the banks of the Okavango River than to be sung to sleep by the sound of hippos.

An ideal location for the Mahango Reserve.

We visited the Mahango Reserve three times while there and saw an amazing variety of game and birds." See all these reviews: 13n in Namibia; 2n in Botswana; 2n in Zambia

"Ndhovu Safari Lodge review"

2 nights Arrived 10 Oct 2015
"The proprietor, Horst, was very hospitable, but the tents had no fan or a/c (but did have a hairdryer!).

The toilet was 5 feet from the bed (separated by canvas). No safe in tent. Cheap and ugly plastic shower stall in bathroom area. Water pressure poor. Activities overpriced.

The deck and bed were not like the photos on the supplied information sheet." See all these reviews: 16n in Namibia; 3n in Zimbabwe

"Hippo in the garden!"

1 night Arrived 29 Sep 2015
"Very rustic and simple camp with lots of charm.

Monica and Johan are welcoming hosts and make the delicious evening meal into a special occasion. Tents very close to river are linked to bathroom 'shacks' behind. Hi-light was watching hippos in river early in the morning and the manager coming along and pointing out a huge male, grazing on the lawn behind our tent!

We only stayed one night and didn't do any activities, but enjoyed the pool and lazing by the river." See all these reviews: 15n in Namibia; 5n in Zimbabwe; 4n in Botswana

"This was a pleasant overnight stay but didn't offer a wide range of activities. We were treated to a hippo in the camp in the morning.

The lodge was conveniently situated for us to self-drive through the adjacent Mahangu Game Reserve." See all these reviews: 12n in Namibia; 5n in Zambia; 2n in Zimbabwe; 2n in Botswana

"Ndhovu Safari Lodge review"

1 night Arrived 11 Aug 2015
"Great location with hippos snorting in the river very close to your tents. Great location to explore the Mahango National Park, which is worth a half day. Close to Poppa Falls too.

Mealtimes were lovely and guests were sat together to share stories of their day, which worked well.

Wonderful vegetarian food." See all these reviews: 12n in Namibia; 2n in Botswana; 2n in Zimbabwe
