Samburu is home to plenty of wildlife, including leopards.

Dominating the landscape are rocky ridges, running north to south.

"My First Long Stay In Kenya"

I visited Kenya between 20 Jun 2017 and 4 Jul 2017
"As a whole my first long trip to Kenya was successful and everything took place as planned. The trip gave me a good insight about safaris and background knowledge of the natural world in Kenya, although my stay at Severin Safari Camp could have been better managed. I hope to revisit in the future and I certainly will want to return to Ol Pajete.

Being advised against visiting Lake Turkana was correct. Whilst in Kenya I spoke to people who had visited Turkana and they found the place unbearable because of the heat.

Lastly, thank you James for helping to sort out the trip at such short notice.

P.S. Apologies for the length of my Feedback but my memory got the better of me." Read full review: 14 nights in Africa; 14 on a Kenya safari

"Kenya Safari"

I visited Kenya between 4 Sep 2016 and 17 Sep 2016
"Great trip, everything we had hoped for an more. Visiting four seperate lodges helped us gain perspective and insight. Having one road transfer from Sambura to Borana was an added benefit both in terms of our enjoyment and saving some money while avoiding the cost of air transfer for that leg of the trip.

Regarding our transfer from Sambura to Borana, I think the transfer driver was named Nicholas. We hadn't left Sambura for more that two minutes when he started pointing out details about every plant and animal in sight. Our three hour transfer turned into a four hour safari that was filled with details and infomation beyond what anyone else was providing. This guy was the best and most informative guide we met on our entire trip." Read full review: 13 nights in Africa; 12 on a Kenya safari

"My Aug 2016 trip"

I visited Kenya between 18 Aug 2016 and 25 Aug 2016
"I do not typically use travel services, but I will never regret doing so for this. Richard Trillo is an expert on Kenyan travel without peer.

All of his advice proved invaluable and allowed my family to have a holiday that we will never forget. I couldn't be happier with everything.

Suggestions to help us improve our trips or our service:

I really don't have any suggestions for improvement. Everything was brilliant." Read full review: 7 nights in Africa; 7 on a Kenya safari

"Once in a life time Safari"

I visited Kenya between 7 Mar 2016 and 20 Mar 2016
"This holiday or should I say trip was a very memorable one. I have been to both locations before but my friend had not but I must say that this time was so much better. We both enjoyed the tented camps - bumping along game drives, especially the off track ones. Seeing all the game - landing in Samburu and within 15 minutes seeing a young leopard!!!!!

We are very well travelled but this trip will stick in our memory bank for ever.

Thank you for a very well planned trip.

Suggestions to help us improve our trips or our service:

No not really - Richard planned the most excellent trip. He all ways replied to my call and emails very quickly.

I have spoken to him since returning to say what a fab time we had." Read full review: 13 nights in Africa; 11 on a Kenya safari

"OUR AFRICAN EXPERIENCE"

I visited Kenya and 1 other country between 21 Feb 2016 and 13 Mar 2016
"Inevitably it was a bit of a ‘whistle-stop’ tour as we covered a great deal of ground; however all the travel arrangements were quite excellent and our thanks must go to Richard Trillo of Expert-Africa for his advice and organisation; to Gaig Leshan Safaris for all their help; to Asilia Africa; and not least to Alex Hunter at Ol Pejeta for all his kindness and hospitality.

Without exception the management and staff wherever we stayed were friendly and helpful, the food was excellent, whilst the standard of diver/guides was of the highest order.

All in all this was an outstanding trip in every respect. Thank you." Read full review: 21 nights in Africa; 11 on a Kenya safari

"My Jan 2016 trip"

I visited Zanzibar and 1 other country between 12 Jan 2016 and 27 Jan 2016
"Great Trip as stated above.
The interesting one is the comparison between Saruni and Elephant.
We gather most people spend 3 days in Samburu and then move on to the Mara.
Somewhere we find a little busy while Samburu remains relatively quiet.
Most game drives centre around the river on your doorstep at Elephant a good hours drive from Saruni
but for us Saruni had the best location but only just!
These two camps compliment each other perfectly, the big bonus because Saruni is in a concession area it affords night drives something you cannot do at Elephant.
This opens up a whole new amazing nocturnal experience and for me filming a pair of stunning Aardwolf for the second year running was special.
So there you go the choice is yours! Some say the wildlife is better in the Mara and of course there is an element of luck
But we saw Lion everyday inc a mating,Leopards every day,Cheetah and the 5 unique animals that live there (google it!)
Sadly missed the Wild Dogs but only by a few days! And we love this park!

Cheers" Read full review: 15 nights in Africa; 7 on a Zanzibar holiday
