My Aug 2016 trip
Kenya between 18 Aug 2016 and 25 Aug 2016
"I do not typically use travel services, but I will never regret doing so for this. Richard Trillo is an expert on Kenyan travel without peer.
All of his advice proved invaluable and allowed my family to have a holiday that we will never forget. I couldn't be happier with everything.
Suggestions to help us improve our trips or our service:
I really don't have any suggestions for improvement. Everything was brilliant."

"We absolutely loved everything about this camp!
The location and views were magical. The food and service were exceptional. Our guide was the best we've ever had. Everyone was friendly and accommodating without being obsequious.
We commend this camp to everyone without reservation or qualification."

Karen Blixen Camp
"Wonderful Experience In Every Way!"
4 nights
Arrived

"Our family (2 adults, 2 children) enjoyed everything about Karen Blixen Camp. The location on the Mara River is fantastic. We are somewhat picky eaters (two vegetarians and two committed carnivores), but the chef/kitchen accommodated us with aplomb.
Our guide was excellent and extremely knowledgable. We saw an unbelievable assortment of animals and birds, and at least in the Mara North conservancy we were almost always alone or with 1 or 2 other vehicles even when we were with big cats. We also went to the reserve and saw the crossing which was, of course, incredible (and brutal), but the shear number of vehicles jockeying for position was a bit depressing.
The staff at Karen Blixen really went the extra mile to make our stay wonderful and memorable. We celebrated our 21st wedding anniversary (we were married in Kenya) at Karen Blixen and the staff, without our asking, arranged a private dinner with champagne and even baked us a small anniversary cake which was presented by the entire staff with a song. It was beautiful and genuine and meant a lot to us all.
On our last day and after our last game drive (we had an afternoon flight to Nairobi) the staff at Karen Blixen discovered that a black rhino was nearby, which is a very rare occurrence. They promptly rounded up everyone who was in camp for an impromptu game drive to see the rhino, thus ensuring that we were able to see the "big five.""

Balloon flight over the Mara
"Once in a lifetime experience"
22 Aug 2016 • Morning excursion
The balloon flight is extraordinary, but I'm not convinced it's worth the cost.
