De Brazza Monkey Fly-in Safari

Enjoy a range of activities in the remote wilderness of northern Kenya before exploring the wildlife-rich plains of the Mara ecosystem. Private vehicles and guides heighten the personalisation of this highly immersive safari.

De Brazza Monkey Fly-in Safari: Summary

De Brazza Fly-in Safari in a nutshell

Explore two contrasting regions with safari in the remote wilderness of northern Kenya and the game-rich plains of the Maasai Mara ecosystem.

In the scorched, craggy landscapes of Namunyak Conservancy, Sarara is a unique oasis offering a truly immersive safari experience. Guests might venture into the surroundings on foot, by camel or on horseback, while night drives and fly-camping offer further opportunities to observe the wildlife from a new perspective. The camp’s strong exposure to local culture, where guests might visit the nearby villages, Retiti Elephant Sanctuary or the singing wells, further contributes to the unforgettable holistic atmosphere.

By contrast, stays at Serian Nkorombo and Serian boast a completely wildlife-orientated experience, where their enviable locations provide fast access to thrilling and varied game. These intimate, traditional tented camps are respectively positioned at the heart of the Mara National Reserve and high above a beautiful stretch of the Mara River in the Mara North Conservancy. Wildlife in the Mara ecosystem is outstanding, and guests stand a good chance of migration sightings during visits in the peak months.

To finalise the quality of this safari, private vehicles and guides are available throughout. Guests can enjoy a vast degree of flexibility, exploring their surroundings when and how they see fit.

Sarara

Days 1-4

First set up as a mobile camp in 1997, Sarara was rebuilt in 2008 as a permanent luxury tented camp. It lies on the edge of the Mathews Range in the Namunyak Conservancy, which covers more than 340km² and has a variety of wildlife. The name Sarara means 'meeting place': the mountains meet here, so water is always available, and local people assemble to dig wells and collect water. With its combination of luxury and adventure, this is one of northern Kenya's finest and most memorable places to stay. The new Sarara Treehouses camp is nearby, nestled in the forest, with its own swimming pool and lounge with a magnificent view across the forest and mountains.

Serian Nkorombo

Days 4-7

The very small Serian Nkorombo is located in the heart of the Maasai Mara National Reserve on the east bank of the Mara River. With just 6 tents, this small bush camp was formerly a seasonal camp known as 'Nkorombo Mobile'. It is part of independent owner Alex Walker's Serian group. There are two larger and more luxurious sister camps just outside the reserve in the Mara North Conservancy and others in the Serengeti in Tanzania.

Serian

Days 7-10

Perched quite high above the Mara River, where it cuts a broad valley along the western border of the Mara North Conservancy, Serian Camp is a small independent tented camp, owned by the established safari guide Alex Walker. It has two sister 'Serian' camps in the Mara ecosystem – one directly across the river and one inside the Maasai Mara National Reserve – and there are others in the Serengeti in Tanzania.
