"We each got a half of a coconut shell with "giraffe chow" pellets to feed the Rothschild giraffes. There were somewhere between six to ten giraffes at the browsing area looking for some treats at this sanctuary.

We heard from one of the docents that the center has been able to breed and release over forty giraffes back into protected parks. One of the giraffes - "Betty" has this trick she like to play - she will approach you so you can reach out and pet her, but she is scoping out the coconut shell and will swing her tongue and attempt to clean out the entire contents. The encounter was great fun, and we would gladly return for another visit.

The gift shop was interesting to stroll through. Many trinkets on display for sale." Read more about this whole safari

"I would give this a pass in future. $15 USD to feed a giraffe a small bowl of food - 5 seconds, not worth it. The giraffes took off and didn't return. I'd rather see them in the wild." Read more about this whole safari

"This was a lovely experience, and wonderful to see within a city.

I felt that the efforts to attract the giraffes to the visitor walkway by banging pails of food incessantly were unnecessary.

I would have preferred allowing the giraffes to have the freedom to come and go as they pleased." Read more about this whole safari

"A very touristy experience where large crowds of tourists "swarm" the giraffes to feed them.

Interesting experience but honestly the weakest one of our Kenyan adventure.
Avoid if you don't like tourist traps." Read more about this whole safari
