"My Sep 2024 trip"
The driving was very easy.
Anything we would have changed? Probably an overnight stop somewhere after Tok Tokkie and then the last 2 nights at Otjimbondona as it was a very long drive after finishing the morning walking." Read full review: 24 nights in Africa; 23 on a Namibia trip
"A fantastic holiday, beyond our expectations"
P. S. I forgot to mention the rock art after we left Camp Kipwe, extremely interesting., and the thousands of flamingos at Walvis Bay. What a sight !

Thanks also are due to Tours Africa for their assistance in Lusaka both on arrival and departure. Getting in and out of Zimbabwe would not have been possible without the help of Wild Horizons
We saw many other animals and birds not noted in this feedback but the checklists provided by Robin Pope are very comprehensive. Of particular note are crocodiles, Puku, Kidu, water buck, warthogs and numerous birds particularly eagles.

"Our Sep 2024 trip to Kenya. "
Game viewing wise, this wasn't perhaps the most exciting safari we've ever had - no leopards, no wild dogs, only one dozy cheetah - but, as always, there were some unique moments that will remain long in the memory. Just three examples: two giraffe families together, each with a baby no more than a few weeks old. Also, a single male lion, early morning, trying to find his mate from the previous night. We spent about an hour with him as he sniffed the air and the ground, scent marked and peed on our and the other three or four vehicles that were present with him ... all in beautiful dawn light: magical. Thirdly, a rare, good sighting of a serval, initially hidden in the grass but then walking out into the open.
Waterlovers hotel on Diani beach is a great place to stay for a few days to recover from a safari. It's small enough (~ 30 guests max?) for the service to be personal, just five minutes from Diani airport, has very good rooms and decent food. The Indian ocean is a few metres away if you want it.
Final comment re the Wildlife Survey: please note that the numbers given for some sightings are "there or thereabouts" ... we sometimes saw a rhino or a giraffe or a ... in the far distance and therefore have no photos to stimulate the memory: I suspect we saw more than listed. Apologies for my lack of scientific rigour (CSL)." Read full review: 13 nights in Africa; 12 on a Kenya safari
"Kafue and South Luangwa Sep 2024 "
Kafue was new to us, then we went back to south Luangwa for our fourth visit.
The safari lodges were all of a high standard, although Ila was not really our sort of place, as it seemed more like a hotel than a traditional safari lodge.
The guides make the trip, and the wildlife viewing and standard of guiding was superb, especially in south Luangwa." Read full review: 14 nights in Africa; 13 on a Zambia safari

Of particular note, when we arrived at JNB there was a downtime with electricity and the airbridge was inoperable. We had assisted passage though the airport with British Airways and we were taken straight to the transfer desk rather than to the place at which we would be met by one of your team. Lucy was concerned that we may have missed the London to JNB flight and contacted us to find out whether there had been a problem to find out.
Overall we had a great holiday and throughout the whole process were confident about the organisation of the holiday. The arrangements went well with no problems but we were confident that if a problem arose your HQ team of the lodge teams would solve it without any fuss.
We have recommended your organisation to friends who are considering a safari. Since this was our third safari with Expert Africa, demonstrates that we are comfortable with the way in which you conduct business and the quality of the holidays." We were 2 couples with a vehicle per couple so every night we were delighted to see each other again!
It was incredibly reassuring knowing Expert Africa had our backs - and we did need their help and expertise while there, so were very grateful for it." Read full review: 22 nights in Africa; 14 on a Namibia trip
"My Sep 2024 trip"
The EuropCar Toyota Hilux vehicles were comfortable and robust and gave confidence on the corrugated roads (Landcruiser not needed) and staff both ends of the trip were terrific.
The Wilderness Meet and Greet Service at Windhoek Airport was tremendously helpful getting SIM cards, ATM and assistance with hire car, coolbox was really appreciated. If you're travelling in convoy, consider using walkie talkies as phone coverage was often very limited.
Expert Africa (Tom Morris and Chris McIntyre) were very responsive in dealing with our missed flights from Frankfurt to Windhoek, we felt very reassured by their involvement and actions." Read full review: 22 nights in Africa; 13 on a Namibia trip
