"Travelling in C-19 times and in the rainy season was always going to be at the risk of disruption but we are glad that we came, with camp staff so happy and grateful to see us in what is a lean time for them.

Our goals were not to seek the big five as we have experienced that many times before in other areas. New to Botswana, we were seeking the more unusual animals and also birds, which are often overlooked (if even available) in the rush to see predators. We got a good appreciation of what Botswana has to offer, and saw many smaller animals (steenbok, scrub hare, bat-eared fox, jackals, lion cubs and a hyena cub left alone) as well as about 130 bird species over the two locations.

The value of a travel agent shows its worth when things do not go as planned. Things certainly did no go as planned for us. The problems that we experienced were ALL outside the scope of Expert Africa and yet Tracy helped us all throughout. This was both in the planning stage when our outbound flight was cancelled some weeks before travel, and during the journey itself. Tracy joined ourselves, our VIP meet and greet helper, and the airline staff on WhatsApp when trying to put things back on track after the airline failed to make our connection. "Despite the problems we had with conencting flights and lost luggage ( many thanks to Chris and Lucy for their help on a Sunday - it was much appreciated)

We thoroughly enjoyed the holiday it was amazing to be on safari in the wet season - and it was not too wet!

Plus we had some amazing drives and sightings

"Overall this trip was excellent. With the addition of Valley it was exactly the same as we experienced in 2020, although the weather was noticeably wetter than two years ago. However that in no way diminished the experience of visiting the Maasai Mara.

We should mention the help provided by Richard Trillo in organising the trip. Richard was very helpful particularly when BA decided to drop our return flight at very short notice. He also was very patient with the myriad of requests from us regarding the documentation required by the Kenyan authorities which seemed almost to vary on a day to day basis. His help in ensuring that we met their requirements was much appreciated. Hopefully those days are numbered.

We have total confidence in Richard and EA in organising these trips for us.

We should make the point that the BA staff at Heathrow T5 were extremely well organised in terms of checking that our documentation met the Kenyan requirements. I'm not sure that the same could be said for their opposite numbers at JKIA.

"As always, a very pleasant experience working with Expert Africa to get the best trip that we can.

I tend to know what i want from a trip and arrangements are made very quickly and very efficiently.

There is always plenty of advice to listen to and this helps knowing that your talking to actual experts that live and breath the destinations your looking at.

Its always good to catch up with Richard and he works very very hard to make your plans a reality.

I would highly recommended Expert Africa to anyone looking to book a trip to Africa, i know i wont be using anyone else.

There is nothing I can suggest to improve the Expert Africa service or suggestions to improve the trips i have booked through them.

It just works and it works so you have zero concerns from getting on the plane to getting to camp and all the ground service in-between, it all just works and that matters when you want to maximise your time on holiday and Expert Africa understand that and that's why they are so good at what they do.

"Thank you for your assistance in creating this trip for me on short notice. I so enjoyed the camps and the areas that I visited since they were definitely different from my previous trips. I am sorry about the hiccup at the end of my trip. I was nervous about getting the test results back in time to get to the airport. As usual, the airport was a challenge - I stood in the line with KLM signage, and when I get to the checkin counter, they say I need to go to another counter, where the signs say, they are closed....
I walked up anyway and asked to be assisted, and luckily the gate person did so.....

"The trip overall was excellent. We have followed this itinerary before and it is always excellent.

We must mention the support offered by Richard Trillo. Richard is always helpful and on this occasion he was put to the test due to the documentation requirements for travel. He always offered timely and accurate advice and did so with a high degree of patience which was probably necessary at times. We have total confidence in Richard organising these trips for us.

We must point out that Heathrow airport was extremely well organised in terms of documentation etc. Nairobi airport was the opposite.
