Robin Pope Safaris bush-camp
"Robin Pope Safaris bush-camp review"
Whilst on foot saw lions at moderately close quarters and stumbled across 3 wild dogs bringing down an impala. Also many antelope/zebra/elephant
Walked on average about 8 miles a day on 4 successive days. Showers/long drop facilities clean and well organised.
We were in a group of 4 who were relatively well matched in terms of fitness and it worked really well. We noticed that the group taking over from us included an 88 year old and I'm not sure how well that would work if paired for instance with a younger couple. Its unclear to me how Robin Pope deal with that situation and whether all parties are aware prior to the start of the trip.
Food was incredibly good
Long drops and bucket shower are communal but clean and with a system that works well"
Nsefu
"Nsefu review"
Lion, leopard and cub up a tree with impala kill, which eventually was taken by hyenas at the bottom of the tree!
Saw wild dog pups at play too."
My Feb 2022 trip

Thamalakane River Lodge
"Thamalakane River Lodge review"
The room, restaurant and service generally were excellent"
Lagoon Camp
"Lagoon Camp review"
We had fabulous leopard and cub, lion and wild dog sightings and even a couple of springhares fighting in the daytime.
Food and room were excellent."
Kwara Camp
"Kwara Camp review"
Wildlife was pretty incredible as far as I was concerned, with multiple lion and wild dog sightings, and prolonged single sightings of leopard and cheetah. Guiding was very high quality, food extremely good and the room luxurious.
We saw wild dogs hunting through the camp, an elephant slept 10 yards from our room and there were leopard visits too.
Whilst we were having dinner one evening, a hyena sauntered over and laid its chin on the deck. What more can I say?"
My Namibia trip
Namibia between 7 Aug 2013 and 14 Aug 2013

Schoeman's Skeleton Coast Safaris
"Wonderful experience"
The highlight for me was seeing the dunes at Sossuvlei from the air. I do suffer from motion sickness and this is usually made worse when I am trying to compose pictures in my camera viewfinder. Andre was brilliant at getting the plane in the right positions and even landed the plane next to the dunes so that I could recover and then carry on afterwards.
The Schoemanns are incredibly hard-working and passionate about the area. I have seen some amazing things in Africa and, although I find it impossible to rank things that are very different, this was very much up there with the best"
My Apr 2008 trip
Rwanda and 1 other country between 14 Apr 2008 and 18 Apr 2008
My guide (William) was simply excellent in every way. [local guide for Rwanda trip]
The big plus when dealing with Expert Africa is that you can speak to people who have experienced the trips. I would suggest you make sure this continues."

Gorilla's Nest
"Mountain Gorillas Nest review"
The staff went out of their way to make me feel welcome and do whatever they could to help. The food/service was excellent. The setting and views were great.
The only adverse comment I would make was that the rooms had no heating at all, and this was a disadvantage when cold and wet!"
