I stayed just one night at the lodge to recover from the overnight flight to Maun via Johannesburg. I saw the advantage that if there was a delay in the flights then I would not lose a day out on safari and it also enabled me to get to the first lodge in the Okavango delta before lunch.
I was very pleased with the chalet I was given and surprised it had air-conditioning given the temperature at around 40C was a bit of a shock coming from UK where the temperature was around 10C. The chalet had a lovely view out across a river. I was booked in for half board and was offered for the evening meal either the buffer or I could choose something from the al la carte menu.
The buffet was enjoyable. All staff were very pleasant and helpful, and ensured I got back to Maun airport for the flight into the delta." See all these reviews: 10n in Botswana

We had requested a room overlooking the river, and our room (#5) was was in a great location - a short walk from the restaurant but in a quiet location overlooking the river. The room itself was OK and the bed comfortable.
The staff were lovely and very helpful, and the food - buffet dinner and breakfast - was fine.
We felt that the Lodge was a little over priced for the quality but we enjoyed our stay there." See all these reviews: 10n in Botswana; 1n in South Africa

On reflection although the food was good it was not as good as the food we had in the other camps.
The transfers to and from Maun Airport were very efficient." See all these reviews: 10n in Botswana

The rooms are individual chalets that are set within the grounds and are spacious and comfortable, with drinking water provided, tea and coffee station and a large bathroom. Ours had a river view. There is a large dining deck and the night we stayed it was a buffet, which was varied and tasty.
We only stayed one night but as a stopover on the way to the Delta we couldn't fault it. The lodge picked us up and delivered us back to Maun airport for our flights. On time and professional." See all these reviews: 8n in Botswana

If we return to Botswana we would definitely return to Thamalakane rather than overnight in Johannesburg." See all these reviews: 10n in Botswana
