Stone Town

Stone Town was constructed during the 19th century...

...and hasn’t changed much since then.

You can enjoy beautiful views of the ocean...

...and discover what remained...

...from its rich history.

Stone Town is something of a labyrinth...

...with small alleys that offer places to shop and eat.

The atmosphere is unique and romantic...

...and you can watch some beautiful sunsets over the ocean.

"My Oct 2012 trip"

I visited Zanzibar and 1 other country between 6 Oct 2012 and 17 Oct 2012
"Thoroughly enjoyed the trip. Didn't expect to enjoy the beach/town as much as the game lodge but there was really little to choose between them - had a great time on all three legs. Arrangements were all pretty spot on. Excellent game viewing in the Selous and lovely to have the boat option; beautiful Indian Ocean setting and chilling at Shooting Star and a much needed bit of shopping in Stone Town! Fell in love with Africa all over again!

Special thanks to Angela for all her help with the arrangements - excellent service - will probably be a few years before we return to Africa, but you will be our first port of call." Read full review: 11 nights in Africa; 6 on a Zanzibar holiday

"a fine and unforgettable trip"

I visited Zanzibar and 1 other country between 6 Oct 2012 and 17 Oct 2012
"The pleasure of this trip began with Elizabeth Wollens help at Expert Africa planning it.
And it just went on from there.

I dont really feel able to express the extent of the gratitude I feel for all that we encountered at every stage and for the individuals involved.

Talking of the people, theres not yet been the space to specifially mention Kassim of Eco + Culture with whom we spent 3 days on various outings, something so memorable, both as the experience of getting to know such a fine person and for the conversations we had and the time together.

Amongst other things, this helped me digest experiencing a visit to E. Africa 50 years after the childhood Id had there.

And it was simply yet another thing that made the fine time wed already been having even more so.

Suggestions to help us improve our trips or our service:

Im afraid Im probably boring in having nothing more to add about any of this.

The only way I can imagine your improving things would be through being able to satisfy others as much as you have me.

Id like to include you all at Expert Africa in this because I fully realise that Liz could not have been the way I experienced her without your all being so too THANK YOU ALL VERY MUCH INDEED." Read full review: 11 nights in Africa; 6 on a Zanzibar holiday

"Already desperate to go back"

I visited Zanzibar and 1 other country between 20 Sep 2012 and 7 Oct 2012
"The trip had the uncanny quality of feeling once in a lifetime whilst making you desperate to return.

We had great advice from Elizabeth in the Expert Africa team and couldn't have been more delighted with the choices we made on where to stay and what to do with our time. The planning was well done in advance and every element hung together seemlessly - every connection was made, all transport was waiting, everyone with whom we were staying knew to expect us.

We're already thinking about where to go next and wouldn't hesitate to pick up the phone to Expert Africa in the future to help us plan another great trip." Read full review: 17 nights in Africa; 9 on a Zanzibar holiday

"Planes, treks and Automobiles"

I visited Tanzania and 2 other countries between 17 Sep 2012 and 30 Sep 2012
"The trip was amazing, Rwanda exceed our expectations and I wished we'd stayed longer. Selous is a worthy extension and I couldn't have been happier with all the guides, transfers, flights and all but one of the hotels!

I would like to put in a plea that EA consider booking Rwandair air connections between Kigali-DAR/Kili. They are by far the most efficient and organised airline I've used in Africa and for clients looking to do a similar trip I would opt to book your own internal flights, than go back to Nairobi using EA partner airlines.

Thanks to Ellie and all at EA for organising a fabulous trip for us." Read full review: 13 nights in Africa; 5 on a Tanzania safari

"Cohen honeymoon"

I visited Tanzania and 1 other country between 15 Sep 2012 and 30 Sep 2012
"It was an amazing once-in-a-lifetime trip and excellently arranged and put together by Expert Africa.

In addition to the comments above our two safari guides, Fazo (at Tarangire and Ngorongoro) and Godwin (Serengeti) were so friendly, knowledgeable and outstanding at spotting animals. It was a privilege to be with them for our safari.

Suggestions to help us improve our trips or our service:

On the whole it was very good. I did pay my deposit in early spring though and instead of receiving a reminder about the balance in mid-summer, I just got an email telling me I was late. It's true, I was late but a reminder that it was due would have sufficed.

I would not recommend Zanzibar Palace for honeymooners - there seem to be a couple of newer hotels in Stonetown that are a bit more modern and plush" Read full review: 15 nights in Africa; 7 on a Tanzania safari

"Trip to Tanzania Aug 12"

I visited Zanzibar and 1 other country between 2 Aug 2012 and 17 Aug 2012
"We absolutely loved this holiday. It was well organised by Expert Africa and all transfers were on time.
We kept telling each other how different this was and it certainly felt different from holidays we have been on before.

Loved the safari and Zanzibar was beautiful.

Feedback response:

None at all. We were delighted with the trip and the service we received from Expert Africa.

Thank you very much." Read full review: 15 nights in Africa; 6 on a Zanzibar holiday
