"Nkwali and Nsefu in the Emerald Season"

I visited Zambia between 15 Mar 2012 and 24 Mar 2012
"Having visited the South Luangwa, and these camps, in the dry season, we wanted to experience them in the Emerald Season. The trip exceeded our expectations. We saw many different birds, and although the animals are, in principle, harder to spot in the lush bush, we were rewarded with some spectacular sightings, due to the skill of our guides: Braston at Nkwali and Daudi at Nsefu.

Suggestions to help us improve our trips or our service:

I can't think of anything to add!" Read full review: 9 nights in Africa; 8 on a Zambia safari

"Luangwa in the Emerald Season"

I visited Zambia between 16 Feb 2012 and 25 Feb 2012
"Great short trip at a very different time of the year to the main tourist season. The stark contrast between the brown of the dry season, and the lush greens of this time of year was most striking. It was alike a completely different place. The light was clear - little dust in the air - great for photographs. The weather was a little variable - first few days were overcast with occasional light rain and one very rainy day. The second part of the trip brought bright sunshine every day.

Watching an already high Luangwa River rise by around 2 metres in a day and a half was quite memorable. Plenty to see - lots of the larger animals and birds around, all looking very healthy. The big cats were inevitably more elusive although we had a great leopard sighting on our way in, and a couple of lion sightings while we were there. Best of all, though, it was like having our own private safari - we were the only guests in each camp, and the staff were all very welcoming and accommodating of our requests and interests. It also meant we could spend as little or as much time as we wanted on each sighting without worrying about the needs and interests of other guests.

If you've been on safari a few times in the dry season, we'd most definitely recommend visiting at this time of year.

Suggestions to help us improve our trips or our service:

None we can think of. We keep recommending you to others, so that's certainly an endorsement!" Read full review: 9 nights in Africa; 8 on a Zambia safari

"Zambia trip"

I visited Zambia between 2 Dec 2011 and 15 Dec 2011
"Wonderful experience, would certainly recommend this to friends and family.

South Luangwa is am amazing place, and has a high density of game, with very knowledgeable and obliging guides, and a very high quality og ecotourism. Visiting in the low season also meant that there were no crowds and I had the guides almost all to myself.

Victoria Falls absolutely amazing, both from land and air.

Suggestions to help us improve our trips or our service:

No, just keep up the great service!" Read full review: 13 nights in Africa; 7 on a Zambia safari

"Zambia - again"

I visited Zambia between 11 Nov 2011 and 19 Nov 2011
"Good. We found the heat a bit difficult, but this was a function of our travel dates.

Game viewing was mixed - some real highlights and some not very exciting. Bryan at Tafika is excellent, and Sebastian at LRC was very good when we had him to ourselves." Read full review: 8 nights in Africa; 5 on a Zambia safari

"final"

I visited Zambia between 31 Oct 2011 and 17 Nov 2011
"Very good guides and game. How it will develop under the new owners - time will tell. They need to keep up the standard and support the team.

RPS needs a dress code for the table meals. I have never had dinner sitting next to man in a vest and would not intend to repeat the experience.

I await to hear the result of this comment." Read full review: 17 nights in Africa; 16 on a Zambia safari

"On principle it remains- ZAMBIA."

I visited Zambia between 21 Oct 2011 and 3 Nov 2011
"Zambia, after its recent elections seems to be heading in the right direction, generally. It can only be hoped that the national park/game reserves can be maintained by the right people and in the right way. Zimbabwe is not an option on principle while the beautiful people there continue to suffer.

Zambia- the South Luangwa valley is one of(certainly my favourite) game reserves in Africa. NormanCarr safaris have the best guides and the combinations of different bush camps give one the best experiences of safari in Africa.

Thank you to everyone associated with NormanCarr safaris." Read full review: 13 nights in Africa; 12 on a Zambia safari

"Zambia, October 2011"

I visited Zambia between 19 Oct 2011 and 29 Oct 2011
"Fabulous. Thank you.

Claire, Chris and Elllie were very helpful in finding just what we wanted, which was quite specific. We discussed Zambia, Malawi and Zimbabwe, before choosing to go again to Zambia. And although I had a good idea of where we wanted to go, having been there quite a lot, Claire was able to help me structure the visit and i think part of its success was very much in the sequence. The arrangements made were absolutely spot on and apart from the ghastly Pamodzi, everthing was absolutely FANTASTIC. It couldn't have been better.

Thanks also for the Bradt guide, which we read constantly and found really helpful.

Suggestions to help us improve our trips or our service:

Not really.

I suppose the cost was the only snag but then we were flying on a private plane and staying in top lodges, a really exclusive tailor made holiday, so what do I expect?" Read full review: 10 nights in Africa; 8 on a Zambia safari

"Amazing trip !"

I visited Zambia between 17 Oct 2011 and 27 Oct 2011
"We had a wonderful trip to Zambia. The wildlife was amazing and we were glad to have the recommendation of 2 Shenton camps plus Mondoro as they complemented each other very well.

Everything went to plan and we will certainly choose Expert Africa again.

Suggestions to help us improve our trips or our service:

Some slightly more detailed advice on photography would be useful. For example on the Shenton web site (not Expert Africa) the emphasis is on top of the range cameras with big lenses. Yes some people have this but they are very expensive. We purchased a 55-300mm telephoto lens which proved adequate for all but the photographing of birds as we got pretty close to most animals. Maybe you could give a counterbalance to the Shenton information to ease the mind of the everyday photographer." Read full review: 10 nights in Africa; 10 on a Zambia safari

"We have been on numerous trips with Expert Africa always satisfied with the service and commitment given but probably for obvious reasons we consider this to be one of if not the best exxperiances to date.

Suggestions to help us improve our trips or our service:
