"Nsefu with a perfect location."

5 nights Arrived 5 Jun 2010
"Nsefu must have one of the best locations with the river and its own waterhole. Our third visit the last one being in 2006.

It was great to see things had not changed and we had a happy welcome from old friends.T

he guiding is first class and we had our usual Leopard fix." See all these reviews: 17n in Zambia

"Nsefu Camp"

3 nights Arrived 1 Jun 2010
"We've never stayed at Nsefu before and we had a great time and good game viewing, so the following comments seem a bit picky.

One small problem with the room is a lack of bedside tables (balancing things on the back bed board means items aren't within easy reach); and no bedside lights, having therefore to climb out of bed to turn off the lights. A difficulty with the area is the need to turn left out of the camp and drive down the same road each time before other options open out.

However, the camp itself is lovely and a highlight was watching a group of ellies of all ages cross over the river one afternoon. As was watching Hazel the leopard giving us a stunning performance of a big cat playing like a small cat one early evening." See all these reviews: 12n in Zambia

"Nsefu review"

3 nights Arrived 22 Jul 2009
"Beautiful rondavels in a beautiful setting with good game viewing, especially from the front porch. Many animals visited the water hole adjacent to the camp.

Excellent and willing guides with exceptional local knowledge who provided us with wonderful game viewing, night and day.

All food excellent: meat, barbecue - exceptional and inventive chefs which added greatly to the pleasure of our stay. Possibly we enjoyed this camp the most of the 4 we visited." See all these reviews: 12n in Zambia

"Elephant encounter at Nsefu"

2 nights Arrived 18 Oct 2008
"Loved the setting - beautiful view of the river from our lodge. Simon (camp manager and guide) was an absolutely wonderful guide. Really enthusiastic and so knowledgeable about all the wildlife - all enhanced by a great sense of humour.

Puku and baboons wandered leisurely about camp. Also, whilst we were there a group of elephants paid a visit to the water hole adjacent to the bar. We spent a lovely time watching them and taking photos.

Did our first walking safari with Sebastian, Boston and Jonathon. It was a fantastic experience as it gives you a whole new perspective on things. You see and hear so much more than you can in the jeeps. Again, sad to leave Nsefu but excited about moving onto Tena Tena." See all these reviews: 10n in Zambia

"Nsefu for leopards"

5 nights Arrived 10 Oct 2008
"Russell wanted to stay for the rest of his life! Margaret and Rachael, sharing a rondavel, found it cramped.

Our main guide was Simon, whom we found the best guide we have ever had, being endlessley patient with both humans and animals. His slow approach to animals enabled us to get close, and his enthusiasm for the environment was infectious. We particularly enjoyed the times he encouraged us to get out of the vehicle to look at something nearby. We also liked the red light he used at night sometimes, being easier on the animals than a white spotlight. We think other drivers should be encouraged to do the same. We had excellent sightings of leopards on the ground and in trees.

We also liked the location, there being plenty of animals to watch during the afternoon.

On our final day we were told we would have to miss part of our morning game drive and pack our things so that 3 new guests could be accommodated - a shower room would be made available. As we were not to leave camp for the airport until after 1 p.m. we were not satisfied and refused to co-operate, which left a bad taste. After that, with temperatures in the mid 90s, we had a one and a half hour trip at the hottest time of the day to the airport in the oldest vehicle in the fleet, which was enclosed, with no air conditioning. This trip was probably worse than in an open vehicle.

Otherwise, the staff were friendly and helpful and happy to accommodate any requests. We also found it helpful that there was still a small supply of essentials such as hair conditioner and Imodium, even though it was at the end of the season." See all these reviews: 14n in Zambia

"Nsefu review"

2 nights Arrived 2 Oct 2008
"Rather like my views on Tafika, there was a tendency to keep going into the same area so sightings were a bit repetitive. There was a move to go to where there was more chance of seeing sightings which had been identified earlier as opposed to trying other areas to find new situations." "Picturesque Nsefu"

2 nights Arrived 28 Sep 2008
"The "huts" are luxurious and superbly located looking over the river. We were welcomed by the scops owl!

Sebastian served us well, the highlight was the visit to the salt pan and finding the serval and solitary Cookson's Wildebeest (we still feel sorry for his loneliness!).

Sad to leave the Luangwa valley with all its glories." See all these reviews: 14n in Zambia
