Another Magical stay in Africa
Zambia between 15 Jul 2009 and 28 Jul 2009
"We have been on 2 safaris before and this was a really fabulous trip with many highlights, tempting us to try another in a few years' time!
Most people we met were going or had been to Botswana so maybe we should try that destination.
Suggestions for improvements:
Lucy pointed out that we would save the enormous sum of ÂŁ2,000 between us if we cut our trip by one day, eg into and out of the same airport, Lusaka. We felt this was a very valuable point and it made us book through Expert Africa"

"Excellent roomy tent design with outside bathroom.
Very knowledgeable and active guides but game was sparse around the camp area so that it was necessary to drive further to see a variety of animals. The immediate terrain was not exciting.
Food good with some recipe highlights."

"Beautiful rondavels in a beautiful setting with good game viewing, especially from the front porch. Many animals visited the water hole adjacent to the camp.
Excellent and willing guides with exceptional local knowledge who provided us with wonderful game viewing, night and day.
All food excellent: meat, barbecue - exceptional and inventive chefs which added greatly to the pleasure of our stay. Possibly we enjoyed this camp the most of the 4 we visited."

Chongwe River Camp
"Chongwe River Camp review"

"Large camp with plenty of activities but slightly disadvantaged by not being in the Park. Exciting 4x4 drives through river fords with steep cliimbs. Terrain very varied in Lower Zambezi Park and camp provided excellent guides who, again, displayed outstanding knowledge of the animals and of the location.
We enjoyed a boat ride on Chongwe River and Zambezi River and would recommend this as part of the stay. 5 elephants in camp every day eating the Winterthorn pods and staff took great care of clients when they were about. This all added to the magic of Africa. Plenty of animal river life in particular.
This was an enjoyable experience although the camp was a little larger than we had anticipated. Excellent tent accommodation though our ochre and pebble bathroom decked out like a Victorian grotto was possibly in need of some refurbishment."

Our experience on Livingstone Island with lunch so close to the edge of the Falls was really worthwhile. Helpful and charming staff, well schooled"
