"I again stayed one night at the Ciela resort on my return from the South Luangwa.

"The proximity to Lusaka airport makes the Ciela Resort a good choice for an overnight stay. It is spread out over a large area, so that the room I had was almost a five minutes walk to the reception and restaurant areas. The room was spacious and quiet. The pool area was ideal to relax with a sundowner beer.
The restaurant was spacious and partly open air. There were few other guests on the night I was there, but the service was rather slow. Several items on the menu were not available, and I was disappointed with the quality of what I subsequently chose." See all these reviews: 13n in Zambia

We have spoken to this traveller with regards their feedback about the food and service at Ciela, and have passed this to the hotel.
The hotel have responded to this travellers concerns, apologising for the incidents. They have assured us that it is certainly not their standard and the matter has been addressed with all their Food and Beverage staff in all outlets. Going forward, they are implementing further training and will use this experience as a training tool to ensure future guests have a much more seamless dining experience. They have also offered this traveller a voucher for dinner if they should choose to revisit in the future.

"We did not experience the facilities at the hotel as on both occasions we had an early morning departure before breakfast. On the first visit, we had a drink at the outside pool but there was a generator shutdown at 21:00 and we did not have a meal in the evening.
On the second visit , there was an office party at the outside pool which was quite noisy although it finished at a reasonable time. As we had eaten well on safari , we only had a drink at the bar.
Staff were friendly , the hotel was clean and comfortable. Not sure I would like to stay at the hotel for many days as it seemed rather isolated. However we did not have time to experience the facilities given the short amount of time that we spent there

"The grounds were impressive. The room was large and the bed comfortable.

"Ideally convenient for the airport - only 10 minutes, and we arrived at 1.30am so that helped a lot.

"The transfer to the hotel with Tour Africa was as planned. The journey to the resort took no more than twenty minutes and it was on a good road.
The resort is set among trees next to a golf course. There were plenty of birds around in the late afternoon and early morning.
The first floor walkways to the rooms gave the place a light and airy feel. The staff were courteous. Our room was clean and comfortable.
