"We did not experience the facilities at the hotel as on both occasions we had an early morning departure before breakfast. On the first visit, we had a drink at the outside pool but there was a generator shutdown at 21:00 and we did not have a meal in the evening.

On the second visit , there was an office party at the outside pool which was quite noisy although it finished at a reasonable time. As we had eaten well on safari , we only had a drink at the bar.

Staff were friendly , the hotel was clean and comfortable. Not sure I would like to stay at the hotel for many days as it seemed rather isolated. However we did not have time to experience the facilities given the short amount of time that we spent there

"Perfect situation on the river bank. Particularly liked safaris which started or ended with boat trip along the Zambezi.

The lodge was very comfortable and the staff were all very safety conscious. In particular they made a great fuss over Susan and always helped her when walking around the camp. Of all the camps, we felt that the staff in this lodge, were to a greatest extent, genuinely interested in their guests.

The guide was excellent and made a point of trying to see the wildlife that was of most interest to guests. He was also excellent in finding good camera angles to take photographs. We never felt at risk from the animals given the knowledge and capability of the guides.

We had a great time at the camp with no complaints about the wildlife viewings Nevertheless, we both felt that, overall, the wildlife viewing was better in South Luangwa in terms of number of sightings. In terms of food, I felt that the quality of the food at the 2 camps in South Luangwa was better but this is just a personal opinion and I would note that another guest far preferred the food here rather at Kakuli.

Lunch on the banks of the Zambezi a little distance from the lodge was a delightful surprise"

"A very comfortable camp with very good food. The staff were very good and always helped Susan. Staff were always concerned for the safety of guests. We particularly like to watch the animals coming down to the waterhole. We greatly appreciated the manager moving us to another room that was nearer to the dining area than had originally been allocated - this was done as we arrived without any input from us.

We had the same guide at this camp and the next camp we visited -he helped make the holiday with his knowledge and, in particular his tracking ability in the early morning before other jeeps had arrived in our area of the park. As he got to know us better and knew what we had seen over a number of days, we were able to sit and watch animals for as long as we liked - there was never a rush to move us on to something else. He was also excellent in finding good camera angles to take photographs"
