Ruaha National Park

Ruaha is Tanzania’s largest national park.

It offers guided walking safaris...

...where you might spot some of the park’s fantastic birdlife...

...as well as a good amount of wildlife.

Ruaha is known for its dramatic scenery, including rolling hills...

...and open plains with skeletal baobab trees.

Ruaha’s wild and untrammelled feel sets it apart from other reserves.

"My Nov 2023 trip"

I visited Tanzania between 14 Nov 2023 and 26 Nov 2023
"Once again extremely happy with Expert Africa. Everything went smoothly and was well taken care off. The knowledge and recommendations from the Expert Africa team, this time especially Lyndsey, were extremely valuable. Thank you for this Lyndsey and also for all your patience.

What we like with Expert Africa besides their vast knowledge is that they listen to their customers, spent the time to discuss our trip as long as we want and subsequently are suggesting what best suits us. Also appreciate very much that Expert Africa has been looking to find the best deal for us with the best value for money within our budget.

Asilia Africa was again top notch and such a great outfit making everything memorable. Jabali was incredible and unforgettable so was Roho ya Selous, different styles working so well together in a holiday.
Highlight for us were the wild dogs that we failed to see so many times on our previous holidays and the whale sharks & flying foxes in Mafia.

We loved Ruaha and Nyerere as less crowded, feeling even private, both parks a nice contrast though realize probably not for everyone as animals are not on display like in the Mara or Serengeti." Read full review: 12 nights in Africa; 14 on a Tanzania safari

"My Nov 2023 trip"

I visited Tanzania and 1 other country between 11 Nov 2023 and 23 Nov 2023
"I had a fantastic trip. The safari camps had excellent facilities and the guides were particularly good.

It was exactly what I was looking for.

The staff and guides had obviously been primed to know what I was interested in and were superb throughout.

Suggestions to help us improve our trips or our service:

I would like to add that Claire saved me from a minor catastrophe when she spotted that I had booked my own flights home for the wrong day, which meant that she could make additional arrangements." Read full review: 12 nights in Africa; 9 on a Tanzania safari

"My Nov 2023 Tanzanian trip"

I visited Tanzania between 2 Nov 2023 and 11 Nov 2023
"A very enjoyable short trip to Ruaha, a park we had not visited before, and a return trip to Nyrere Park.
The two camps, suggested by Lyndsey, worked very well for us and we had a wonderful time.

Because of our flight times we had an overnight, and an an afternoon and evening to spend in Dar.

The Serena Hotel is good - but the trips back and forth to the airport were not enjoyable.
A reasonable hotel nearer to the airport would be very welcomer" Read full review: 9 nights in Africa; 8 on a Tanzania safari

"My Oct 2023 trip"

I visited Tanzania and 1 other country between 24 Oct 2023 and 5 Nov 2023
"The arrangements made by Expert Africa were excellent with one exception, the 'accessible' room in Nairobi mentioned above.

I do want to single out a young woman called Bernice at Nairobi airport who shepherded me through passport control avoiding the horrendous queues.

Otherwise Expert Africa's customary care and attention to detail are what I have come to expect." Read full review: 12 nights in Africa; 10 on a Tanzania safari

I visited Tanzania between 19 Oct 2023 and 31 Oct 2023
"Fantastic overall first time safari experience for the children.

Seeing Wild Dog in two separate parks was amazing.

The camps were all high quality and wildlife viewing overall was excellent.

Great to cap it off swimming with Whale Sharks." Read full review: 12 nights in Africa; 11 on a Tanzania safari

"Excellent Safari.

The new international airport terminal at Dar is great, but it is fun to use the Coastal one for the internal flights.

"Our trip was amazing and Jessica was there to answer any questions and help with any changes we requested.

Suggestions for improvement:

One thing we thought was we almost would have rather done beach then Safari as we were so tired on the Safari from traveling. But we didn’t want to miss anything. This is probably only an issue for people coming from the US though!" Read full review: 13 nights in Africa; 12 on a Tanzania safari

"My Sep 2023 trip"

I visited Tanzania between 22 Sep 2023 and 7 Oct 2023
"The itinerary was very well established from start to finish! The sequence of destinations and accommodations was perfect. Well done!

Our only hiccups were at the start of the trip - a guide for Arusha and a transport from the domestic flight to the day room in Dar es Salaam.

Staff at Expert Africa were attentive to these mishaps and helped resolve them immediately.

More conversation around what to expect would be helpful for first-time safari guests and more detailed descriptions of the activities available would be helpful in making decisions about how to spend out time." Read full review: 15 nights in Africa; 13 on a Tanzania safari

Everything went according to plan, both camps are wonderful and I thoroughly enjoyed everything about them: location, staff, food, accommodation, general atmosphere... and the wildlife, of course!

I look forward to my next safari." Read full review: 14 nights in Africa; 13 on a Tanzania safari
