Ruaha National Park

Ruaha is Tanzania’s largest national park.

It offers guided walking safaris...

...where you might spot some of the park’s fantastic birdlife...

...as well as a good amount of wildlife.

Ruaha is known for its dramatic scenery, including rolling hills...

...and open plains with skeletal baobab trees.

Ruaha’s wild and untrammelled feel sets it apart from other reserves.

"Ruaha, Tanzania: 21-29 June 2024"

I visited Tanzania between 21 Jun 2024 and 29 Jun 2024
"Thank you so much, Jessica! Our holiday in Ruaha was amazing.

Every step of the planning and booking process was simple and fun.

Our overnight and transport through Dar es Salaam was smooth, and Ikuka and Kitchatka Zumbua are both excellent camps that complement each other very nicely.

We would be thrilled to return to each camp some day!

We highly recommend Expert Africa. Thanks again!" Read full review: 8 nights in Africa; 8 on a Tanzania safari

"Rwanda & Ruaha"

I visited Tanzania and 1 other country between 16 Jun 2024 and 4 Jul 2024
"This was an absolutely fantastic trip, and getting close to gorillas was a unique and thrilling experience.

We should also give a shout out to Lyndsey, not only for organising the trip and making some great suggestions, but also for rescuing the situation when our plane to Dar was delayed by 12 hours. Thanks, Lyndsey!" Read full review: 18 nights in Africa; 5 on a Tanzania safari

"My Jun 2024 trip"

I visited Tanzania between 1 Jun 2024 and 9 Jun 2024
"3 nights at Kigelia were excellent but 4 nights at Sand Rivers was a waste of time, so overall the trip was unsatisfactory.

Nomad should be much more honest about Sand Rivers. It may have been good in the past but currently there is no reason to go there and I got the impression that they are aware of the issues." Read full review: 8 nights in Africa; 8 on a Tanzania safari

"My Feb 2024 trip"

I visited Tanzania between 19 Feb 2024 and 1 Mar 2024
"Yet another great safari organised by Expert Africa.

I thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of my trip and, to put the wildlife sightings into context, my visit was at the end of the season so the recent rains created very thick vegetation which made big cat sightings unlikely.

The sightings of Wild dogs (now Painted Wolves) are always special and I had fantastic bird sightings from both camps.

As always Expert Africa have excelled in organising a fantastic trip, tailored to my requirements and providing complete satisfaction. I am always happy to recommend Expert Africa and I hope they will continue making my safari arrangements for many years to come.

Full marks too, for Sean and Millie at Lake Manze and Malcolm at Mdonya and their respective teams for providing me with such enjoyable stays at their wonderful camps and such great company." Read full review: 11 nights in Africa; 9 on a Tanzania safari

"My Feb 2024 trip"

I visited Tanzania between 6 Feb 2024 and 26 Feb 2024
"The camps were lovely and we were very happy with the level of guiding.

Tanzania is a beautiful country with a lot of culture, wildlife, and birds.

The strict rules about walking away from camp are quite different, but it is because of the dangerous animals." Read full review: 20 nights in Africa; 9 on a Tanzania safari

It may be a little different in the high season...

"My Nov 2023 trip"

I visited Tanzania between 14 Nov 2023 and 26 Nov 2023
"Once again extremely happy with Expert Africa. Everything went smoothly and was well taken care off. The knowledge and recommendations from the Expert Africa team, this time especially Lyndsey, were extremely valuable. Thank you for this Lyndsey and also for all your patience.

What we like with Expert Africa besides their vast knowledge is that they listen to their customers, spent the time to discuss our trip as long as we want and subsequently are suggesting what best suits us. Also appreciate very much that Expert Africa has been looking to find the best deal for us with the best value for money within our budget.

Asilia Africa was again top notch and such a great outfit making everything memorable. Jabali was incredible and unforgettable so was Roho ya Selous, different styles working so well together in a holiday.
Highlight for us were the wild dogs that we failed to see so many times on our previous holidays and the whale sharks & flying foxes in Mafia.

We loved Ruaha and Nyerere as less crowded, feeling even private, both parks a nice contrast though realize probably not for everyone as animals are not on display like in the Mara or Serengeti." Read full review: 12 nights in Africa; 14 on a Tanzania safari
