Arusha is a lovely town with amazing accommodation options...

...like small lodges...

You can enjoy a day by the pool...

One of the best ways to explore the park is by 4WD; here you can see the famous fig tree.

"My Sep 2017 trip"

I visited Tanzania between 18 Sep 2017 and 27 Sep 2017
"Expert Africa was quite helpful and knowledgeable in helping with our planning. I believe we got very good advice in planning our trip, including decisions on depth vs breadth, Central vs Northern Serengeti, preferable places for bird watching.

Later, when one of our party dropped out, and we had to substitute another, the change was handled quite smoothly.

Asilia, the operator has a great reputation in Arusha, and it is obvious why. The vehicles are great - our guide, Harry was professional, and very experienced. He didnt break any rules chasing sightings, or harassing the animals." Read full review: 9 nights in Africa; 9 on a Tanzania safari

"First safari"

I visited Tanzania and 1 other country between 13 Aug 2017 and 24 Aug 2017
"This was our very first safari, and it was an incredible success...We loved every bit of it...

Everything extremely well organized, no surprises, great locations, fantastic game drives, smooth transportation between the camps..

Everything was exactly as James had explained us it would be. James helped us pick locations and activities that we loved, hard to come up with anything other than glowing compliments

Suggestions to help us improve our trips or our service:

no... we loved your service. Will definitely use it again for our next safari!" Read full review: 11 nights in Africa; 6 on a Tanzania safari

"Absolutely wonderful!"

I visited Tanzania between 5 Aug 2017 and 15 Aug 2017
"This trip was really enjoyable and memorable. It was organized by Elizabeth Chapman first, then it was taken over by Claire Scott.
All of my travel arrangement ran very smoothly and I had nothing to worry about.

As I stated before, I like small, rustic camps and I really love warm hospitality of the people working there. This might be one of the reasons why I don't stop going to African countries on safari." Read full review: 10 nights in Africa; 10 on a Tanzania safari

"An Unforgettable Journey !"

I visited Tanzania between 27 Jun 2017 and 18 Jul 2017
"Our trip as a whole was: very well prepared and perfectly organized, the mere fact that we had not one serious problem on such a long journey, is amazing !

Thanks to the way Expert Africa helped us to choose among the various possible destinations, we could benefit from an itinerary that led us to variable parts of Tansania and we enjoyed entirely different landscapes and surroundings. Each of the camps and lodges we stayed at had their own charm and asset. Obviously James Denny was able to empathize our wishes and preferences so well that we really got what we wanted.

There is only one small critical item we would like to mention:

What we did not know beforehand (and what we could have been told when planning) was the distance from Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha, which is a car drive of about three hours, not really very much longer than the flight together with the time for waiting and transfer to and from the airport. In addition to this we flew to Kilimanjaro Airport instead of Arusha AIrport, which would have been much nearer to the hotel, although the plane did actually got to Arusha Airport." "My Mar 2017 trip"

I visited Tanzania between 23 Mar 2017 and 4 Apr 2017
"This was the experience of a lifetime. Far exceeded our expectations.

The game drives, including the vehicle, were wonderful.

Stanford was a great guide--knowledgeable and well-suited for our family.

Suggestions to help us improve our trips or our service:

I was amazed by how easy and efficient everything was, especially since we were traveling through multiple time zones while planning the trip and often did not have access to the internet." Read full review: 12 nights in Africa; 6 on a Tanzania safari

"My Feb 2017 trip"

I visited Tanzania and 1 other country between 11 Feb 2017 and 26 Feb 2017
"The best recommendation I can give is that I would use Expert Africa again, and I would recommend them to anyone going to Africa.

I would also recommend Nomad Tanzania to anyone going to Tanzania. Expert (Eleanor and Olivia) did a great job during the lengthy period of planning the trip, answering questions, responding by email in a timely fashion, alerting me to details that I needed to complete, nudging where appropriate, offering unbiased advice.

In short, our two week trip to Arusha, Gibbs Farm, the Ngorongoro Crater, Southern Serengeti, Northern Serengeti (Lamai), Stone Town and Zanzibar beaches was terrific and I would do it again. Especially the Serengeti. And no question that Serengeti Lamai was the highlight of the trip. A unique spot. I found it very moving to contemplate the origins of our species a million years ago arising from the very same surroundings, surviving the challenges of hunter and prey, and literally standing up on two feet and becoming the dominant species of the planet. Really powerful.

Well done, Expert Africa!" Read full review: 15 nights in Africa; 10 on a Tanzania safari

"Asilia trip exceeded our expectations"

I visited Tanzania between 1 Feb 2017 and 17 Feb 2017
"The trip consisted of two nights at Arusha plus a total of 15 at Asilia camps: Highlands, Namiri and Sayari. All were very different but with one thing in common: the guiding and staff were excellent.

We would recommend Asilia camps because you can expect high standards across the board and also in the knowledge that they are involved in and contribute towards local communities. They employ as many local people as possible: at Highlands for instance there are Masai community guides. Asilia also have impressive training programmes: while at Sayari we saw this in action as a new batch of trainee guides was being selected.

Overall the balance of the trip was very good: the camps were in very different landscapes and the wildlife viewing exceeded our expectations." Read full review: 16 nights in Africa; 16 on a Tanzania safari
