"The owner was over anxious to please "he patrolled" the dining room; was unclear about whether the alcohol was free; he insisted that a bottle of wine of which a glass had been taken be paid for. The room was rather dark and gloomy. However dinner was very good"

"A beautiful old house converted into an excellent small hotel. Again very good accommodation.
Attractive grounds and swimming pool. Very good breakfasts each day. We also had dinner here twice which was very satisfactory.

"Beautiful old house with lovely rooms and the excellent service which seems to come as standard in SA.
Well positioned in the centre of town.

"Schoone Oordt is a Victorian House, and is beautifully furbished with vintage furniture.
The breakfasts are very good!

"Our only comment is that Swellendam has not a lot happening locally and requires quite a lot of travelling to see the area around.
