"Our January 2020 trip to South Africa"

I visited South Africa between 4 Jan 2020 and 19 Jan 2020
"We have had the most amazing trip of our lives. We have travelled to many places but this holiday, to get a feel for South Africa, was very special.

Our itinerary was followed to the letter as we had expected and the whole trip just flowed so well. Pick-ups and drops offs were exceptionally well organised - Ilios is an excellent company. This was our first experience of South Africa - a BIG birthday present for my husband who has always wanted to visit South Africa based on the tales told to him as a boy by his late father.

The trip certainly exceeded all of our expectations - more in fact. We are already thinking of another trip maybe the same time next year in advance of another BIG birthday perhaps.

A very big thank you to Lucy and the Team in Cape Town for making this such a memorable experience

Suggestions to help us improve our trips or our service:

We can't think of anything which could have made this trip more enjoyable other than maybe an extra night in Kwandwe and Grootbos and one less night in Cape Town but nevertheless we enjoyed the whole whole experience.

Thank You" Read full review: 15 nights in Africa; 13 on a South Africa trip

"30th Anniversary trip Botswana & Cape Town"

I visited Botswana and 1 other country between 1 Nov 2019 and 16 Nov 2019
"Our trip was mostly booked by Richard Ball, who was really helpful in organising with us a truly once in a lifetime holiday. He listened to what we wanted, advised and recommended, but would listen to us and accepted what we wanted. As it was our 30th anniversary, not sure how but we ended with private safari vehichle's, private dinners, cakes, and room upgrades. So many thanks.

Many thanks to everyone and all who were involved in making our trip so special.

The next time we visit Africa, will certainly put Expert Africa at the top of our list." Read full review: 15 nights in Africa; 7 on a Botswana safari

"A memorable and wonderful three weeks"

I visited Zimbabwe and 2 other countries between 27 Oct 2019 and 20 Nov 2019
"This was a big trip for us and our expectations were high. But they were met in almost every respect, British Airways excepted.

It was a very memorable and exciting three weeks, at a very hot time of year and in a year of terrible drought in Botswana and Zimbabwe." Read full review: 24 nights in Africa; 8 on a Zimbabwe safari

"My 70th Birthday celebratory tour"

I visited South Africa between 14 Oct 2019 and 5 Nov 2019
"Overall it was completely fantastic the slight bumps did not cause us any major issues.

The country is fantastic, the animals were amazing but the people win my vote. The Xhosa people are warm, friendly, helpful with a high work ethic and an eagerness to learn, a joy to interact with.

We went from the old world glamour of the Blue Train to the vibe of the modern city of Cape Town. Then we enjoyed the laid back artistic atmosphere of Franschoek followed by whale watching at Hermanus and the surfing town that is Plettenberg. We needed with the amazing waterhole watching at Gorah followed by the long drives into the bush to see a wide range of local fauna and flora at Kwandwe." "Wonderful memories of an awesome adventure!"

I visited Namibia and 2 other countries between 4 Oct 2019 and 21 Oct 2019
"A fantastic experience.

Enjoyed our days driving in Namibia, seeing the very dry terrain which was so different from when we last visited in April 2018. The lodges where we stayed were very good, the wildlife we saw exceptionally varied, and the people we met were a delight.

Cape Town was crazy busy, fun, very different to when we last visited 22 years ago and the whale watching in Hermanus was well worth a day trip. Our favourite activity was visiting Kirstenbosch and seeing the proteas.
The Okavango Delta in Botswana and Shinde in particular was the icing on the cake and probably the best African experience we have ever had, and we’ve had 7 trips to Africa over the years, so that’s praise indeed!

First time we've used Expert Africa and we are well-impressed. Thank you Megan for listening to what we wanted and helping us to make the choices, it was a perfect holiday - no, a perfect ADVENTURE!" Read full review: 17 nights in Africa; 8 on a Namibia trip

"My Sep 2019 trip"

I visited Botswana and 2 other countries between 30 Sep 2019 and 1 Nov 2019
"Overall the trip exceeded my expectations. Victoria Falls was good but the helicopter noise ruined it for me.
The safari camps were brilliant and although one was much richer in terms of game viewings, overall the experience was superb.

We met some lovely people as well as part of the journey...

The only negatives were the crossing from Zimbabwe to Botswana was a mix up as there was not guide there to meet us. The itinerary was not in line with local travel staff. Fortunately a local person, who was not part f the company bailed us out and took us to meet the driver who was waiting somewhere else.

There was also a problem with the itinerary when we tried to get off at Omsdorf airstrip for Duba Explorers, as stated. The pilot was insistent that we needed to get off at Vumbara instead. The was ratified by two people getting onto the plane. So we stayed on the plane and in fact they, and not the itinerary from Expert Africa, were correct." "South Africa and Seychelles with a 4 year old"

I visited South Africa and 1 other country between 13 Aug 2019 and 1 Sep 2019
"We had a really superb honeymoon.

Every flight, connection, transfer, car hire and hotel was planned with our requirements in mind in a totally seamless manner. The recommendations of what to do and see and how to get about were spot on.

Thank you very much Lucy at Expert Africa for such superb personal recommendations which really made the difference.

"May 2019 Africa Trip"

I visited Zimbabwe and 1 other country between 9 May 2019 and 21 May 2019
"We knew we needed someone knowledgeable to help us with our first trip to Africa. Claire was fantastic! We were so pleased with all of her suggestions and everything she planned for us. Everything went exactly as planned and we had no concerns during our trip about our plans.

We’ve already passed Claire’s name along to a colleague and she is working with him and his wife now on their upcoming trip. We definitely want to return to Africa, probably as soon as next year, and will plan to contact Claire to see about helping us with that trip as well."
