Seychelles inter-island ferries

Seychelles inter-island ferries

Seychelles inter-island ferries

Naturally, there are two ways to reach an island – by air, or with a boat. The Seychelles small private islands are usually served by light aircraft or helicopters; however, there are also ferries operating between Mahé and Praslin, as well as between Praslin and La Digue. Let us know which way of travelling you prefer – scenic flights over the Indian Ocean, or the 'Seychellois way' by ferry – and we will gladly make those arrangements for you.

Below we've tried to give precise times for ferry-departures, and this timetable is correct at time of writing. However, as this webpage is not frequently updated, these might have changed by the time you read this. So please use these schedules only as a rough guide, and check with us before you travel.

Ferries between Mahe and Praslin islands

Mahé and Praslin are well connected by fast catamaran ferries, which are operated by Cat Cocos. See their website for an up to date ferry timetable. These ferries generally serve each island three times a day (only twice on Wednesdays and Fridays), and take about 45 minutes, with the first and last ferries leaving…

Mahé
at 7:30am and 4:00pm on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday,
at 7:30am and 4:30pm on Friday,
at 7:00am and 5:00pm on Saturday and
at 9:30am and 4:30pm on Sunday;

Praslin
at 9:00am and 5:00pm on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday,
at 9:00am and 6:00pm on Friday,
at 8:30am and 6:30pm on Saturday and
at 11:00am and 6:00pm on Sunday.

As an alternative to the fast catamaran ferry rides, Mahé and Praslin are also connected by more than 20 daily flights, which only take about 15 minutes. (Read more about flights to and within the Seychelles…)
