"Swaks's stylish tree house"

1 night Arrived 5 Sep 2007
"Only stayed one night but upgraded to family room (2 bedrooms and small sitting area). Warm welcome from staff who showed us to treehouse and explained all the facilities (including the radiator which was very welcome later on once the temperature dropped to 60F).

Kettle provided with tea and coffee and well stocked mini bar (reasonably priced). Excellent shower - open to the rafters as are the bedrooms. Stylish and spacious main room with plenty of space to unpack and good storage. Good birdwatching from the sofas out over the lagoon although the traffic from the road from Walvis Bay to Swap could be heard and seen.

We dined at the Tug (pre booking essential) also designed by the same architect round an existing old boat - worth a visit if only for a drink. Breakfast is enjoyed in a large room with views out to the lagoon. Very amenable staff will cook breakfast to order - plenty of choice of both food and beverages." "The Stiltz review"

2 nights Arrived 30 Aug 2007
"A lovely place to stay but better to drive than to walk to town at night.

The restaurant they recommended on our first evening 'De Keller' was a big disappointment.

Sandwich Harbour excursion with Turnstone Tours - A very knowledgeable guide who took us into remote country with complete confidence and really knew the country and the wildlife.

He identified numerous birds and showed us sand creatures with a quick scoop of his hand." See all these reviews: 13n in Namibia

"We did not understand how cold Swakopmund could be. I liked the Stiltz but maybe I would have liked to have stayed at an hotel with a central area with a bar etc." See all these reviews: 12n in Namibia

"Estuary Tree Houses"

2 nights Arrived 14 Aug 2007
"This was magical. we would stay here again and wished that we had 3-4 nights in Swakop. The rooms were magical. The breakfasts great and everyone as helpful as they could be. Meals in the town were also very good and good value.

The Kayaking with Jean is another thing we would repeat as it was a fantastic experience. You may like to up-date your brochure as I am not sure she does the lagoon kayaking now as it is silting up.

The dunes and the coast were incredible. We would like to go back to dune board and do the zip wire as well as the living dersert trip. It would be helpful to have more links to work these things out before you go. The distance to the Welwitschia drive was not something I had appreciated from the brochure." "Wonderful location and excellent facilities"

2 nights Arrived 2 Aug 2007
"Superb buildings and the location right on the river/sea was just what we had asked for. The rooms had not only heaters but also an electric blanket which was just what we needed as it was very cold at night.

Good receommendations were given for dinner and bookings made. The resturanats were very good and the staff at the stiltz were very friendly and helpful. No safe in the room but the office provided security for any personal items.

Swakopmund was a good stop over and we could easliy have stayed longer if time had allowed." See all these reviews: 19n in Namibia

"very unusual accommodation with a stunning seaview. Breakfasts were excellent, staff very helpful.

The staff suggested a restaurant the first night. They organised the booking of the restaurant & a taxi. They suggest
De Kelder Restaurant, a small local restaurant. Absolutly fantastic." See all these reviews: 15n in Namibia
