"Okonjima Villa"
Hearing cheetahs purr was very special and tracking a leopard with telemetry on our last afternoon is one of the most exciting things I have ever done.
The food was fabulous and I would happily eat at Martin's restaurant every night." See all these reviews: 12n in Namibia
"Okonjima Villa review"
Food/wine were first class - loved the creative sorbets from the chef (pear and rosemary!) Really informative drives - info not just about the reserve but also about living with the local (farming) community. Good awareness of the challenges.
Loved the way the leopards 'chased' the plane along the runway." See all these reviews: 10n in Namibia
"Luxury at Okonjima"
We occupied the North Suite which was the biggest and best of all the rooms with wonderful views. Anja Johann and their staff gave us superb service and wonderful food. The work and achievements of the Africat Foundation in their rescue and rehabilition programme was carefully explained and demonstrated to us by Johann on our excursions around the reserve and we had some excellent close encounters with leopards, cheetahs, hunting dogs and hyenas.
At night the water hole in front of the Villa attracted porcupines, honey badgers, a genet and a giant eagle owl. Our last morning was spent on a lovely walk on which we were given insight into Bushman crafts. A memorable two nights." See all these reviews: 12n in Namibia; 2n in Zambia
"Okonjima Villa review"
The first night at Okonjima, we were the only guests and felt very spoilt, having a chef, guide (Johann) and hostess (Anya) to ourselves. Our evening trip was tracking hyena, which was a bit different.
On our second day, the morning activity was a bushman walk, where we learnt about how bushman tracked, hunted and survived. The afternoon activity was tracking leopard. We started a bit late, but found a leopard in a dry river-bed. It appeared to be sleeping, but then climbed into the tree next to us to protect it's most recent kill.
On our last morning, we went to see the cheetahs and wild dogs. The cheetahs are in a fenced reserve, but it was great to see them being fed.
Okonjima was a great end to our holiday - we may never stay anywhere as exclusive again." See all these reviews: 15n in Namibia
"Heavenly"
Landing on the narrow airstrip and our 6 seater plane being chased by 4 cheetahs was an experience we will never forget.
The villa was perfect for a family. We particularly liked the fact that the housekeepers etc left the site for a few hours in the day so we really did have it to ourselves. Though they were excellent company and we enjoyed chatting with them in the evening.
The bush walk was a new experience for us and something we would recommend.
Coming face to face with the leopard was "awesome"" See all these reviews: 2n in Namibia; 2n in Botswana
