"We had only the briefest of stays but were made to feel very welcome and arrangements for dinner at and transport to a local restaurant were quickly and easily made."

"Great location - very sympathetically integrated into the landscape. The food/wine was great but more communal eating might have been pleasant.

The guides on some of the activities were not so good - for example, on the visit to the dunes the guide did not explain what was going to happen next, did not explain the sand dune walk in terms of condityions, walking techniques, what do do if not coping etc. Pretty basic health and safety stuff!

He also did not check during the walk that the whole party was coping with the sand dune walk and spent his time after the walk chatting with the other guides. The cooling system was not very good in the rooms - the fan just circulated hot air - so it was not very easy to sleep. However, the rooms were nicely decorated and comfortably furnished."

"Good size room and facilities and not too far to walk to the town centre. Limited service from staff - had to ask several times for a local street map and ended up having to just find one at the info office in town. It was very difficult to use the internet - it was offered as available but in reality not very available.

Day trip to Sandwich Harbour - We had an excellent guide and day tour with the local tour company organised - very informative and a great experience. Excellent tour - very pleasant guide with lots of insight and a great variety seen (of fauna and lanscape)!"

"Wonderful location in this scenic area and very warm welcome from the delightful staff - always available for a chat and to help. Rooms were nicely decorated and facilities excellent.

The food/wine was great and the communal eating very pleasant. The quality of the guides was a little mixed - some appeared to take the 'easy' option for themselves rather than think about what would be best for guests who only have a couple of days."

"Another wonderful lodge location - right beside the Etosha Park entrance and with a waterhole right in front of the main lodge. Rhino and lions to watch while we had dinner.

Rooms were fantastic - the aircon was particularly welcome. Lunches were particularly good (great soup and salad selction) - dinner was actually a little disappointing by comparison but still good.

The game drives were quite spectacular - the guides were patient and thoughtful."

"Really felt at home here. Hosts were very attentive and good company. Rooms were beautiful - lots of African decorating tips!

Food/wine were first class - loved the creative sorbets from the chef (pear and rosemary!) Really informative drives - info not just about the reserve but also about living with the local (farming) community. Good awareness of the challenges.

Loved the way the leopards 'chased' the plane along the runway."

"Good location (easy walk into town centre). Rooms very pleasant - could have done with darker curtains as exterior lights were quite bright at night.

Good food - liked being able to have evening meal in a B&B. Enjoyed use of spa facilities, too."
