"Walking with TV stars."

2 nights Arrived 19 Aug 2010
"Important to note that we stayed at Okonjima MAIN CAMP not the bush camp as stated above.
Another one of our favourites but more so because of the Africat work/experience.
Lovely lodge, people and excellent food.

There are ten new rooms called "View" rooms of which we had one. Massive rooms with a huge bed and a picture window overlooking the bush with oryx, warthog and zebra wandering around. (Warthog served as lawn mowers - interesting!) Lovely swimming pool. gardens and excellently furnished main lodge which has recently been extended.

The activies were everything and unique - - tracking leopard, nightdrives, tracking cheetah on foot, porcupine hide etc as well as the opportunity to find out about the Africat work.

We were very lucky to go out with excellent guides - Martin who perserved for hours and eventually found a male leopard feeding on a warthog in a tree, and then A.J who took us on foot tracking four cheetah. These four cheetah are shortly to be featured in an ITV series called Wild Cat Country which we believe starts on September 10th. Both of these activies were "once in a lifetime" wonderful experiences.

We don't think anyone should go to Namibia without visiting Okonjima. It was really special experience and two nights is the absolute minimum - three nights would be better." See all these reviews: 25n in Namibia

"Cheetahs"

1 night Arrived 5 Aug 2010
"This camp came highly rated, and there is no doubt is was exciting to see the Cheetah and Leopard, but in comparison to the wide open space of Damaraland and Etosha we found the set up slightly contrived.

The original farmhouse building is a very attractive open plan seating and dining area, but overall the atmosphere was more formal than in other places, even a little stuffy? We found it slightly disconcerting having to decide what we would like to drink in the evening and what time we would be having tomorrows breakfast, upon arrival at 12 midday the first day....

The rest of it is "what it says on the packet" , an opportunity to see the big cats and close quarters, some behind fences, others a little too close for comfort?

The accomodation was comfortable, the setting and food was excellent. Access to the airport the following day was good, approx 3 1/2 hours door to door." See all these reviews: 15n in Namibia

"Okinjima Main Camp review"

2 nights Arrived 31 Jul 2010
"This was our favourite place of our whole trip to Namibia.

Our rooms were spacious and comfortable with wonderful views from the picture windows. The food was lovely.

The staff were friendly and helpful and seemed to enjoy working there.

We did five activities while we were there. They were all great fun and we learnt loads about the area and the animals that lived there. The guides and trackers were really knowledgeable. Altogether it was a wonderful experience." See all these reviews: 13n in Namibia

"Upgraded to Bush Camp Chalet"

1 night Arrived 5 Jun 2010
"On arrival we discovered we had been upgraded to the Bush Camp. Best accomadation of the trip. With lots of attention to detail. Wonderful all round views from our Chalet. Game Drives excellent, saw both Leopard and Cheetah and many other game animals including an Ardvark. Magnificent sundowner spot.

Main Bush Camp complex was exceptionally well laid out and very relaxing. Sydney one of the game guides was very good.

The staff also presented me with a card, photograph, and a huge Birthday cake, which we shared with the other guests and staff as there was so much of it. I was very touched. We would loved to have stayed for longer.

A lovely place." See all these reviews: 16n in Namibia

"Okonjima Main Camp review"

2 nights Arrived 23 May 2010
"We were upgraded to a beautiful View Room from a Garden Room.

We expected this to be one of the highlights of our trip but it wasn't... possibly because my scorpion bite/sting was causing me problems at this stage but also the game drives and food were not up to the standard we were expecting." See all these reviews: 26n in Namibia

"Okonjima Main Camp review"

1 night Arrived 22 May 2010
"It was a shame to spend only one night here as there is so much to do.

We went on a leopard drive, a night watch from a hide where we saw porcupines, and a cheetah drive where we saw the rehab area. Very good staff obviously committed to the wildlife and excellent accomodation." See all these reviews: 17n in Namibia

"Okonjima Bush Camp"

2 nights Arrived 21 May 2010
"We were upgraded to Okonjima Bush Camp [Ed: from Main Camp] on the arrival - thank you, whoever took this decision ;-)

It's a great place with fantastic activities - we saw cheetahs and leopards - including a leopard hunting a warthog, which was a great spectacle! A nice bonus was 18 giraffes by the waterholes. Our guide Dean was great, we enjoyed every minute of our drives. He had a vast knowledge and an excellent sense of humour ;) The trails for self-guided walks were also a nice idea.

The room was very big and nicely furnished, the only problem was a lack of hot water on the second day. The bird seeds and the little waterbowl are a wonderful idea - we saw plenty of birds from really close and we also had a visit from a hungry warthog who fancied the bird seeds, too. OUR food was very tasty as well. :)" See all these reviews: 14n in Namibia

"Okonjima Main Camp review"

2 nights Arrived 19 May 2010
"Actually ended up in the Bush Camp rather than the Main Camp. We still enjoyed it though. The welcome was fine. The rooms seemed a little tired, but they had everything we needed. Very much enjoyed feeding the birds and Warthogs with the bird seed provided. Service was good, and so was the food.

Guiding was very good, and all the activities were interesting and a lot of fun. The guides were friendly and mixed well with the guests.

It was a different experience again, which we knew before we went, but was justified in what we learned and what we saw. Leopards, Cheetah and Porcupine were all seen here.

A few more people were here at the same time, and it was enjoyable from a social aspect too." See all these reviews: 14n in Namibia
