"Great choice at Plains Camp"
Activities are well-organised and the idea of being allocated a guide for your whole stay is very good. It is easy to plan the days with main activities at 06:30 and 16:00 each day. Only staying two nights we were able to pack in 3 activities during which we saw leopard, cheetah and wild dogs in addition to a rich variety of other fauna.
The staff are very flexible and were able to change seating quickly when three couples returning from a game drive wished to eat at a table for six. The food is of good quality.
The only regret was not squeezing in the Africat visit between main activities.
This is one Lodge which will inspire." See all these reviews: 15n in Namibia
"Very wel run and informative centre"
The Standard rooms are nicely decorated in a simple way and have two large beds with views out across the plain. Meals are served in a large building. The set 3 course dinners were good - game each night. The first night's meal was significantly better than the second. All staff were keen to ensure the visit was good. Tables were allocated for dinner, but we asked to combine tables with others we met on the game drives and were accomodated immediately.
We took three drives out seeing leopard, cheetah and wild dogs, as well as loads of antelope and giraffe. The guide, Immanuel, was excellent and made an effort to ensure we saw as much as we could during our stay. We were nervous that the viewing would be affected by the way they collar the cats and track them but in practice it didn't affect the experience as the cats are roaming wild and the tracking doesn't 100% identify the location of the animals and the animals might be in areas the vehicles can't reach.
The clinic/centre is also worth a visit to understand the work AfriCat does.
We hung around on our final day as it was such a comfortable place torelax before heading on to Windhoek." See all these reviews: 18n in Namibia

"Amazing experience"
The staff were all friendly, the food was good particularly the afternoon tea!
We took part in the cheetah and leopard tracking - it was a great privilege to get so close to the cheetah and to learn about the work of Africat in preparing these beautiful animals for release into the wild. Our hunt for leopard illustrated the difficulty Africat have in monitoring these animals. Our guide Mike was informative and very experienced.
I also took the tour of the Africat foundation and got to see Leewa the leopard up close - such a beautiful animal. I really enjoyed the trip with Martin and learned so much about the difficulties caused by the local communities living in close proximity to cheetah and leopard.
Overall an amazing experience not to be missed" See all these reviews: 13n in Namibia

"Okonjima, unmissable!"
The food and service just excellent
WE had a great guide who made sure we saw the leopards and cheetahs. We would have been very happy to stay another night and just relax at the lodge." See all these reviews: 15n in Namibia
"Leopards and Cheetahs"
Meals were served in a spacious glass sided building, tables were allocated. My only criticism is that we felt service was very rushed at dinner and we felt under pressure to be quick. The Bushmans Omelette for breakfast was vey generous!
The activities were highly organised, well described and priced in written and verbal information. We went on two trips, both Leopard and Cheetah spotting. These were well organised with many trips departing at the same time but none of the transport was crammed full, meaning that everybody had a good view of all about them. Our guide on each trip was Imms, who was enthusiastic and determined that the viewing would be successful. This involved a fair amount of off road driving through vicious thorn bushes but well worth it.
On leaving Okonjima Plains Camp we were stopped at the last exit gate by the gate man who had noticed that we had a slow puncture. He pointed it out to us and helped us to change the wheel within the gates of the Lodge.
Without this we would have found the puncture while on the main road and had a much more stressful change of the wheel.
It is also worth other visitors knowing that there is a guest toilet right by this gate which came in very handy for us!" See all these reviews: 21n in Namibia; 2n in Zimbabwe
"KNOCK OUT !!!"
we saw wild dog puppies we went to see the two male lions with champers sundowners
us not the lions
we went tracking cheetahs and leopards and saw a beautifull male leopard with no collar
we were allowed to watch them exercising a cheetah with a lure at speed and we even saw evidence of animals on the reserve we are not allowed to mention !!
And on our last night we had out table for dinner in a private boma with a fire, candles all over the place and our own waitress
The people here really did go out of there way to give us a good time and we thank them from the bottom of our hearts" See all these reviews: 17n in Namibia

The food and way of serving has also improved from earlier visits and we enjoyed some lovely meals.
The reception and waiting staff were friendly and professional and checking in was quick. It was nice to see some familiar faces during our stay and to meet some new ones.
Needless to say that we will definitely be going back." See all these reviews: 6n in Namibia
