"Doro Nawas review"
The drive to find the desert elephants was immense fun, especially watching the guide tracking them from signs left on the ground. The staff singing in the evening was a nice bonus. The atmosphere in the lodge made it very easy to socialise with the other guests in the evening." See all these reviews: 12n in Namibia
"Loved our stay here"
We went on the elephant trip on the afternoon we arrived and then the next day saw the same herd of elephants walking in front of the lodge when we were having afternoon tea. This was a relaxing place to stay, the rooms are beautiful and staff are great." See all these reviews: 14n in Namibia
"Doro Nawas - a unique place to stay"
On our first night we were served dinner under the stars on the roof terrace. On our second night we ate by the swimming pool.
The first morning we left at 6am for our desert elephant trip. After a short ride we stopped to be treated to a surprise sit down breakfast and a welcome in song from the staff. They had been up for ages preparing every possible item you could possibly want on the camp fire. A magical experience and one we will never forget.
We had an excellent guide for our desert elephant trip and saw lots and lots of elephants as well as being given much information about the natural history of the area.
The rooms were very comfortable and spacious and the restaurant and lounge areas are attractive and comfortable. Splendid views from the terrace and the rooftop.
This is a "must" place to stay - for its location and for the elephants but what made our visit extra special was the amazing treatment we were given by the staff who couldn't do enough to ensure we enjoyed our stay and who clearly enjoyed themselves too." See all these reviews: 16n in Namibia

Wonderfully low-key; but everything was there that we wanted.
Easy access to rock engravings. We particularly enjoyed the Damara Living Museum
The walking guides were so informative .... and impassioned about their country.
We much enjoyed the staff choir.
One or two waitresses seemed a little distracted at our second breakfast." See all these reviews: 14n in Namibia
"A true gem in every way."
The interior of the rooms are finished concrete with the traditional grass roof. The entire room is oriented to enjoy the breathtaking landscape, and the result is an incredibly peaceful and beautiful environment. In addition, the dinner at the lodge is a gourmet meal.
We used the lodge as a base to visit the Twyfelfontein rock paintings nearby. If I returned, I would also visit the Living Museum, which was recommended by one of the managers.
We had a wonderful conversation with one of the managers of the Doro !Nawas lodge (unfortunately, I can't remember his name, but he was from Windhoek). We were very happy to hear about Wilderness Safari's investment in local communities, to learn more about Namibia in general, and to hear about his experiences at the lodge and his trip to the U.S. many years ago.
I look forward to returning to Doro !Nawas. I find myself reminiscing about my wonderful time there on a near daily basis." See all these reviews: 10n in Namibia

They were very aware of my diet restrictions and tried very hard to make sure I had enough food. Meats were overcooked." See all these reviews: 14n in Botswana; 12n in Namibia

From the inside , the main building was great - large, with sweeping 360degree views. the staff was welcoming and showed us to our own building which was roomy, well-equipped with a roll-out star-gazing bed, and huge porch overlooking the desert.
We saw no animals from the lodge, but were taken in the morning on a jeep ride up the riverbed to find a large group of elephants who had just returned to the area. It was an outstanding trip, our first intro to african animals in the wild. They were spectacular, and the guide friendly and informative. meals and service were good - fresh, tasty and accommodating. A small pool was available to cool off - a necessity if hot." "Great experience sleeping outside at Doro"
The rooms were lovely and very spacious although in the searing heat air conditioning would be good, there was only a ceiling fan. Massive patio doors on to a large deck area meant you could pull the beds outside and sleep under the stars, however the wildlife (moths, bats, lizards, birds) could make sleeping disturbed all the same it was a great experience. The outside shower was also good.
On the first night we had dinner outside on the roof and after dinner entertainment from the staff.
A good location from which to visit Organ Pipes, Burnt Mountain and the rock paintings at Twelfylfontein. Afternoon tea was a nice touch too." See all these reviews: 14n in Namibia
"Doro Nawas review"
We chose to spend our days staying at the lodge rather than driving to other nearby sites....we were driving past the cave drawings on our way to Swapkopmund when we left. The weather was very warm for us so we were happy to just sit and relax.
The staff was very nice and the sunsets were great." See all these reviews: 9n in Namibia
